Thanks for removing splashing when it was voted to not be removed. Now there is literally no reason to get 93 slayer as the smoke battlestaff will be worth next to nothing (and the occult necklace is already worth like 500k if that...) 87 slayer is now better than 93. If half of the community wanted this to stay it really was a dumb move to keep it, me and many others where so close to 93 slayer and now it is useless and i no longer feel motivated at all to get there. Thanks a lot for devaluing slayer, you should have thought of the consequences before hand.

TLDR: removing splashing has ruined 93 slayer.

A majority actaully voted for splashing to be removed, that is until commission stakers started paying people not to fix it. The final poll result doesn't reflect the actaul thoughts of the community, and it was stated by some of the Jmods on twitter that this would be accounted for. Furthermore, The Smoke devil boss came out prior to the removal of splashing. Back then Smoke battlestaffs were about 3m, so it actaully isn't too bad, assuming the staffs fall back to that price.

Why tf would commission stakers pay people not to vote yes to "fixing" splashing?
That doesn't make any sense.

I actaully have no idea why, it didn't make sense to me either, but several people have stated that comission stakers were paying to bug that poll too.

Oh so you don't actually know what you're talking about. Yeah, that doesn't make any sense so it's likely false.

Yeah, cause when several people including jmods mention something, it's apparently false.
You never said Jmods were the ones giving that information. I can't think of a reason why stakers would do that.

The salt is real.

I'm going to enjoy training my magic today after Thanksgiving the NORMAL, LEGIT way, and not by splashing and going AFK, which, while it isn't against the rules, is most certainly against the spirit of the game. =D Boring it may be, but the ways I have in mind are how the game was MEANT to be played! And that's coming from someone who has played since 2005.

I applaud you, Old School team, for manning up and taking action, even if the survey/poll didn't look like it'd pass for any option! No, really, I do.

To those of you who are angsty - give me your salt. I need it for my turkey and mashed potatoes today. =)

Err.

You do know you always had the option to train it "Legitimately", right? And that you didn't need splashing to be removed to train your magic level using other methods... Right?

Yes, I knew, but honestly, I never saw anyone DOING them when splashing was a thing.
Oh, I almost forgot.
Oh, I already forgot.

Reading through the comments, it seems a lot of you are upset about the cost of steam battlestaff plummeting (if it of course does that). Perhaps we should look at ways to improve it to help it hold its value.

Nah mate, most of it seems to be about how you passed a poll without it hitting the proper criteria.

Care to elaborate on that, or are Jagex just gonna sweep that one under the carpet again yeah?

That is all explained in the newspost.

Sorry, but "We felt we had to", is not a good enough justification for ruining standards that put this game into a decent equilibrium.

I'd rather have the answers as to why you abandoned your standards of the polling system and decided to instate various updates that the community had no say on.

It would seem far more logical to say to the players "We're changing it, because we think it's for the greater good, but how shall we go about doing this?"

It's cheeky, honestly.
