The salt is real.

I'm going to enjoy training my magic today after Thanksgiving the NORMAL, LEGIT way, and not by splashing and going AFK, which, while it isn't against the rules, is most certainly against the spirit of the game. =D Boring it may be, but the ways I have in mind are how the game was MEANT to be played! And that's coming from someone who has played since 2005.

I applaud you, Old School team, for manning up and taking action, even if the survey/poll didn't look like it'd pass for any option! No, really, I do.

To those of you who are angsty - give me your salt. I need it for my turkey and mashed potatoes today. =)

I feel sorry for people like you LOL. Nobody plays this game like it was meant to be played anymore, forcing everyone to play it that way just kills the experience.

Err.

You do know you always had the option to train it "Legitimately", right? And that you didn't need splashing to be removed to train your magic level using other methods... Right?

Yes, I knew, but honestly, I never saw anyone DOING them when splashing was a thing.

So you'll admit that it had absolutely no effect on the way that you trained your magic?

You know, the further I engage with you, the less I see the strength in the points you're *trying* to make.

Reading through the comments, it seems a lot of you are upset about the cost of steam battlestaff plummeting (if it of course does that). Perhaps we should look at ways to improve it to help it hold its value.

I'm glad you care enough to do that

Yeah the steam battlestaff(it's smoke lmfao) is more important than the the opinion of the community.

This ^ It's a 7 year old game. Many people who played it back in the day and play it now, don't have the time to invest in it, so when methods like splashing come along, they're necessary for some players, especially given how competitive this game is now.

Nah mate, most of it seems to be about how you passed a poll without it hitting the proper criteria.

Care to elaborate on that, or are Jagex just gonna sweep that one under the carpet again yeah?

That is all explained in the newspost.

Sorry, but "We felt we had to", is not a good enough justification for ruining standards that put this game into a decent equilibrium.

I'd rather have the answers as to why you abandoned your standards of the polling system and decided to instate various updates that the community had no say on.

It would seem far more logical to say to the players "We're changing it, because we think it's for the greater good, but how shall we go about doing this?"

It's cheeky, honestly.

From the news post:

However, we think that if everyone could get 99 magic easily any future update to the magic skill would be redundant.

Would be nice, or add another drop to the smoke devil boss that should keep a good value.

@Mod Mat K

Would you agree that it is the minority that's ruling this game rather than the majority when it comes to polls that get more than 66% but less than 75%?

Are you kidding me? This method gives 10k magic xp an hour and magic is already one of the easiest 99's to get. Ffs, you can get up to 150k xp an hour stunning + alching so what is the big deal on splashing? In one hour of actual magic training, you can get 15x what you would get splashing WOW WOULD YA BELIEVE THAT. With that being said magic takes around 85 hours of actual training if you're stunning and alching which someone can get in a week. What a failed update, if people want to splash let them it doesn't harm anyone, and it keeps fire runes, air runes, and the smoke battlestaff in circulation, all of which you have just made worthless, good job.
