Why would you change something without the support of the community. That was the whole idea that 2007scape was revolving around.

1) people were buying votes
2) this was a survey, not a poll.
3) afk splashing is not an intended feature, it happened as a consequence of the removal of random events. if ANYTHING they should've removed it immediatly and polled for afk-splashing to be brought into the game, which I guarantee wouldn't have passed.

Thanks for removing splashing when it was voted to not be removed. Now there is literally no reason to get 93 slayer as the smoke battlestaff will be worth next to nothing (and the occult necklace is already worth like 500k if that...) 87 slayer is now better than 93. If half of the community wanted this to stay it really was a dumb move to keep it, me and many others where so close to 93 slayer and now it is useless and i no longer feel motivated at all to get there. Thanks a lot for devaluing slayer, you should have thought of the consequences before hand.

TLDR: removing splashing has ruined 93 slayer.

A majority actaully voted for splashing to be removed, that is until commission stakers started paying people not to fix it. The final poll result doesn't reflect the actaul thoughts of the community, and it was stated by some of the Jmods on twitter that this would be accounted for. Furthermore, The Smoke devil boss came out prior to the removal of splashing. Back then Smoke battlestaffs were about 3m, so it actaully isn't too bad, assuming the staffs fall back to that price.

Why tf would commission stakers pay people not to vote yes to "fixing" splashing?
That doesn't make any sense.

I actaully have no idea why, it didn't make sense to me either, but several people have stated that comission stakers were paying to bug that poll too.

Copy pasting my reply from another thread.

Have to agree, it's actually pathetic that they put on a façade, claiming that they want it to be a community driven game, but when shove comes to push they decide that democracy isn't the way to go in the future, and enforce changes on an unwilling community regardless. Utterly pathetic behaviour in general.

I hope some members of the old school team read this comment. Also, take a moment to think that you have now belittled the slayer skill to being a meagre source of money making once more, instead of being rewarded for the large amount of effort and time it takes to get 93 slayer.

I'm not going to go all melodramatic and claim I will quit the game etc. But from now on, the mods of old school have lost my trust at least, and I'm sure I'm not alone. When I vote on a poll from today, will I think my say has any substance or meaning? Do I think my choice and the choices of others in the community actually count for something in the eyes of the old school team? Not at all. Until they revert this update, I will always have in the back of my mind that underneath the veil, they don't really value the voice of the majority if it doesn't coincide with their personal decisions on how the game should be run.

You've shown your true colours today old school team. Please don't insult the community further with your twitch Q+A's, we don't deserve to be lied to.

Removing splashing is so justified that nobody can complain about it really. I don't even care that they may have bypassed the voting results, seeing how many of them voted in favour of splashing, and thus how dumb the voting community apparently is. They would probably vote yes on "the ability to edit your levels" aswell. You keep going Jagex, doing a great job!
