Never did any splash training myself, but I do not like that Jagex is going against the will of the majority of the OSRS community and changing this without a vote.

54% said nothing needs to be done on splashing. 15% said poll the fix before doing anything. So that's 69% of the community that's saying "don't do any changes without polling it first".

So then they go ahead and change it anyway.

Now I'm not one that thinks there should be a 75% requirement for something like this, since splashing is definitely not 2007 content.

For stuff like this, I think a 51% majority should rule. And 54% is a majority. At the very least, they should have said "here's our proposed splashing fix, you guys vote if you want it, majority wins".

Personally, I don't like voting for any "fix" when they haven't told you what exactly the "fix" is. Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease.

I agree with some of your points, esp the last one. This move reminds me of the devs from years ago who would just make changes and that was that, had to live with them.

Yeah, remember that time where they took away free trade to "fix" botting and RWT? I was all about stopping botting and RWT, but that "fix" made me quit the game.

Information (MATH) for those who can't math, and have cried because they couldn't math.

Splashing (fire strike) ((most common method))
Splashing (firestrike) = 8k exp hour (estimated highly)
You can only a.f.k 6 hour intervals
there are: 24 hours in a day.
24 divided by 6 = 4 potential times to a.f.k splash

8,000x6x4=
192,000
potential exp gained in 24 hours. Which =
Not
that much

lvl 99 magic =
13,034,431

13,034,431
divided by
192,000
=
68 (67.88
) that means to gain
13,034,431
exp you'd have to a.f.k for
68
consecutive days without logging out. which most people do half that amount of exp so take
192,000
divide by 2 =
96,000

13,034,431
divided by
96,000
=
135

days however since thats 2x out of the 4x a day that's only 12 hours..

take
135
days multiply it by 2 to figure out how long it'd take for 99 mage:
answer:
270 days

but since thats so devistating in regards to:
Barraging ape atol apes = roughly 300k/hr
alching = 55k/hr

M-aking
A-holes
T-hink
H-arder.

Completely wrong rates. Fire Striking is 13k/h, how did you even come close to getting 8k/h?

i've never done splashing so i don't know how much it grants i quickly asked a friend who does it, he said he thought it was 8k, but if you want i configure the math, it'll still be an extensive amount of gameplay to get to 99 magic.

For all the people who are saying that the dev team disregarded the POLL results and came to their own conclusions, This was not a poll, it was a SURVEY in which they gathered information to help THEM make the executive decision on how to handle these issues.

I'm glad we've fixed splashing, but it would be nice to limit NMZ to the same ~30minute timer. Yes, these people have trained for a long time to achieve lvl 70 in all stats, but I believe that being able to put in minimal effort (clicking screen once every half hour) is a really good reward for their hard work. A 30 minute timer is still AFK. I really do not agree with being able to AFK for hours while you sleep with zero effort put in.

Thanks for the update dev team! Keep at it.
