I've been playing this game since 2002, and it looks like my Runescaping is soon to come to an end. I've been thinking about quitting for a while now, because it really seems like a lot of the content is unnecessary and doesn't add any fun to the game whatsoever. The "updates" seem like they're mindless put together and forced into the game in a pathetic attempt to provide to the "customers." Put together the lameness of the new content and a price increase, you will now lose even more players than you already have. Back in sometime around 2006, there would be 120,000+ people online - why? because they probably took the time to think about what they're adding to the game, and put themselves into the shoes of a Runescaper and think "if this was a part of the game, wouldn't it be awesome?"
I don't think Jagex realizes, but providing a steady flow of updates doesn't make customers happy - maintaining the game in a way that makes it enjoyable does. This game doesn't need to be updated every week. Once every two months would be MORE than enough, and would probably make it easier to come up with QUALITY content that people actually want.
