I understand Jagex, you are adamant
(no pun intended)
in investing into further advertisement. We all understand - Runescape is a competitor to other Massive Multiplayer Online games. You've spent several years developing both Runescape 3, and Old School Runescape. You now have a game to market! But, could you please understand, that
your competitors have real demand for their games?

I've seen moderators quote that Runescape is growing,
but is it? I've seen no progression in our numbers. The visible change I see is an increase in bots, and scammers. Both are unwelcome by me.
I want a real growth. If the ideology behind the price increase is:
"we are a business, and we can!"
Fair enough,
but wouldn't it be nice to grow the game too at no extra cost?

Please, I suggest that our extra-money is invested into furthering your advertisement campaign. I want a game with a guaranteed longevity. A healthy one at that. Social media including Twitch, and YouTube, aren't growing this game at the rates other means could.
It's time to act.

A healthy, and friendly suggestion from myself. A loyal gamer with your company for well over 10 years. A YouTuber, who helped grow and bring your community together in the past. I mean the best. So please, give it to us.

WHY??? You guys make a bazillion dollars from your money-hungry microtransaction updates we see every single gd week. You're just making the wound worse by doing this, and I understand the price raisings in the past, because it was BEFORE you added MTX!!

Jagex, why don't you just have f2p trials like you do on osrs? Would it still upset people? Sure, but the f2p crowd is a fk lot smaller than the p2p crowd. God help this company and their decision-making skills. Sorry if I sound pessimistic, I just think they could've tried harder to think of another solution instead of the easy way out again.

Also please tear this thread down or lock it, because all you're going to get are flamers and this idea to raise prices is guaranteed set in stone already. There isn't going to be anything constructive going on in the thread.

LMAO, why am I not surprised?

Original message details are unavailable.

How much will the new price be?

The new price will be announced in early 2015, before the price rise itself happens. While the exact amount isn't finalised yet, it will remain competitive when compared to other MMOs.

Hopefully competitive with those free MMO's... Wait, who am I kidding? $15/month incoming

Lol, competitive to what? It's a browser mmo not a regular mmo, Jagex can't compare apples to oranges. Runescape will always be limited to what it can do vs other mmos because it is a Java-based browser mmo. This is true.

Bring us this new Runescape NXT thing first (they're doing this instead of HTML5) THEN talk about raising sub prices. This game is nothing like other mmos either, which used to be a good thing until they started making it generic with EoC.

After taking some time to think about this, I think ive came to the conclusion that it doesnt matter wether runescape will die or not but jagex want to suck the most amount of money out of it within the remaining years left

Will the price of pre-paid membership cards increase as well?

I'm wondering about this also. Jmods, if the price of the cards do indeed get increased as well, what happens to the remaining amount that is not spent thanks to the increase? Does it add extra membership days? This is regarding accounts that keep an active membership pre-price increase.

I am just hoping they don't make the price ridiculous like $15 a month. I might as well go play World of Warcraft if its going to be that much. Other than that I guess I don't really care too much about the price change but at the same time I think it's a poor decision.
