I barely play but i pay the £5 so that i can log on now and then and talk to friends and maybe do a little something in game. I will be ending my sub promptly. how can you justify a price increase in a game that has dropped its number of active players significantly. You srsly need to review ur decisions here.. Way i see it is new players are scarce as it is and the price increase will push them away aswell as ur players of present.

I support our oldschool team as they don't seem happy about this change either to my understanding. They don't have much influence in the grand scheme of this whole company.

@And J-Mod Where is an RS3 forum where I can go complain to them?

Today is a sad day. I come to the home page to find out that a price increase is happening. I feel even more sad for the osrs Dev team who have worked so hard to make this dream game a reality to the "old school" players. Who ever is pulling the strings high up in this company is just killing the game for everyone who plays it. I can't believe you just killed any new players joining the osrs community as they sure arent gonna fork out upwards of $10 a month for this game that means nothing to them. THEN theres the players like me who are veterans of the game and a die hard scaper... who is now having to litrally reinstall world of warcraft as speak because i now know my time in rs is done. Im not wasting my time paying a hefty fee when i can play a polished mmo such as wow.

Wuju kid out. rip os rs.

Jagex really doesn't understand its player base, so many of players are at college and uni and have trouble paying every month then you call growth by raising the membership what absolute rubbish. You try with your crappy marketing by saying keep members and price stays the same..... that is the point people can;t afford to pay each month so then if they miss a month they pay more. Considering solomons store is in runescape3 shows how much they are struggling and old school should NOT be affected. Also you say more updates is why the raise in membership why don't you POLL YOU ARE THE ONES SAY POWER TO PLAYERS PLEASE RE-THINK AND POLL IT IN THE CORRECT WAY SUCH AS WOULD YOU PREFER LESS UPDATES AND SAME MEMBERSHIP PRICES.

"They may gain people but i'd be walking out the door. My achievements and hard work would be undermined by the kid with daddy's wallet. If I want that I can play rs3 where at least I get a shot at freebie crap in the process thereby ensuring there's no value to begin with."

This is a game isn't not supposed to be work. If you value your achievements on RuneScape so much I fear you may be lacking achievements elsewhere in life.

When I saw this I had to report you. How dare you undermine his work or any of our great work and accomplishments on RS. It means alot more to some of us than you think and I think its highly offensive that you dare put that to question

I agree with the other 90% of posters on this forum, it is time for seperate prices for EOC and OSRS. Why should we have to pay for upkeep on a game we don't even play? This is just the big guys at jagex's plan to secure money for sever upkeep on RS3 by forcing people who love old school to pay for it. It is time for the prices to be seperated.

I also agree with the others on this being the time for true F2P to be introduced to OSRS. Sure you may lose a few member accounts but most of the people who are already members would stay members. You also need to consider the amount of players OSRS would have. I'm sure within a few weeks our player base would far surpass RS3. Thats really the main reason why they have the amount of players they have today. With F2P comes advertisements for non-members and more income to help pay to run OS.

In my opinion these are the best choices that can be made at the current time for the longevity of OS. If the price of membership is going to increase we need separate fees for the two games. We also need true F2P for oldschool and not a two week trial. This is not how you get players to purchase a game. I remember what got me to subscribe back in the year 2007 was playing F2P for several months and then I wanted to try the members expansion of the game and I became hooked from there. Two weeks isn't enough time to decide whether or not you want to pay for a game, and what if you don't? You shouldn't have to, ads will do that for you, of course there will be less content but thats the point. Some people have other things to give there IRL money to. I'm not saying I would un-sub but I would probably make a F2P side account to play along side my members main account. I also know lots of other people who would join and play F2P.

This is just my comments and suggestions on the subject. Thanks.

also after reviewing several other's posts another point I support is the decrease of weekly updates. You guys are forgetting the "quality over quantity" rule and are trying to rush new updates into the game as soon as possible. Which really does nothing but flood the game with less desireable content. If we are going to pay extra for this game in the new future the new price needs to reflect the games quality. Quit rushing updates into the game every week or so and spend at least a month or two or hell maybe even three on one or two high quality updates that will only be released every month or so, every few weeks is too fast and the rush shows in the workmanship of the updates.

To repeat whats been said, you do understand that nothing would change in regards to price if seperate prices happen - all you would do is alienate some of the OSRS player base who use bonds.

This is ridiculous, just make two separate membership fees for RS3 and Old School. I don't even play RS3, no one should have to pay for something they don't use.
Great move if you would like to lose more and more players, people don't have the extra money.
