If its so fun, why is there an option to skip all the animation and to spin 10 keys in 1 go? Probably because its not fun.
The pointless animations aren't fun. The gambling itself is.

To save you time of course. As I mentioned, if there is demand, perhaps Jagex will put the open 100x chests option there too.
Note that options are good. You can choose the fun to open chests one by one and admire the animations or you can choose to save yourself time to open 10x (and maybe 100x in the futre?) chests all at once to save you time. Options are good. Powers to the players.

Then why are there animations at all in the first place? Why bother? I was told that the animations were supposed to help entice people.

I don't think you got my point? If something is fun, then why would I want to skip it to save time when I'm supposed to be enjoying it? That must mean that TH isn't fun for some whales if they feel the need to skip it when spinning a hundred keys. And somehow, you can only spin 10 keys at a time, probably because Jagex wants to keep you logged in, otherwise we'd have the option to spin a hundred or a thousand keys and have all loot displayed immediately with the option to exchange for oddments for each win instead of checking one at a time.

What you think are fun doesn't mean other think so. Somebody may think mining, fishing and banking, and spiderweb slashing are fun but animations are not.
Different people have different opinions. That's why Jagex gives us a lot of options and customizations in RS3. We get a lot of powers to dictate how we play in RS3.

Maybe the animations are to entice people to start the gambling. But once you're hooked you want to pump through as many keys as possible! Slot machines regularly have similar mechanisms, which is where Jagex copied this from. It's classic tbh

Not enough. They haven't put dice rolling skeletons in RS3 yet.

No ability to spin 100 or 500 keys in one go, yup, plenty of options!
