I think that if Hallowvale was making would-be-rebels useful and productive, and he was seeing them get there, then he'd see it as him making it all possible. Enough for his ego I would think.
In my scenario the loss of Hallowvale also meant him having to fall back on exile to the wastes and execution for rebels, instead of having somewhere for them to go before the became a problem.

I wrote this as part of a suggestion, but I thought it could fit here:

You can then take the sword to Kharshai, who, after doing his miniquests, Kosheii's Troubles and Mahjarrat Memories, tells you how to fuse a demonbane bar (replaces abyssalbane) to it using divination. The fully enhanced demonbane darklight requires 77 mining, 87 magic, 77 smithing (for creating the demonbane bar), and let's say 77 divination for the final step.
Just for fun, I'm going to try to write some of this
Kharshai: Player, what is that you have there?
Player: Silverlight, the sword of demon slaying! Given to me by Sir Prysin...or three ghosts, my memory is kind of hazy.
K: Fascinating. I had heard of this sword in my research. Legend has it that the saradominists enchanted steel similarly to bane ore using demon remains. But the sword is darker than I remember.
P: Well it is has seen a lot of use. I could never get those stains out.
K: Do you recall the greataxe, Balmung? With the right spell, I believe I could enhance your sword similarly.
K: Bring me a bar of demonbane, and we can continue.
*channeling together, with darklight floating between you, the demonbane bar is dissolved and fused into the sword, you hear an eerie growl*
P: What was that?!
K: Silverlight hungers.
P: *scared*
Is that a bad thing?
I'm no exorcist!
K: The magic from the demon's blood has corrupted the enchantment. It would seem the sword will not function at full capacity until you...sate it.
P: *still scared*
How do I do that?
K: Why don't you ask it?
*as you look at the sword's blade, you see images reflected...*
Bandos: Well, look who it is. I thought you dead, Zanik of the Dorgeshuun.
Zarador: The Chosen Commander?! How dare you show your face here? I should crush you where you stand!
Bandos: Enough, Zarador. You and Davosi are to oversee the next caravan. The Armadylians seem to grow more numerous with each passing day. Leave us be.
Davosi: Yes, milord.
*Zarador scowls at Zanik as he trudges down, only to whimper slightly when Bandos glares right back*
Bandos: Now, where were we?
Zanik: I....*stands up straight and tries to look fearless* I came to stop you.
Bandos: HAHAHAHA *the tower rumbles from the booming laughter* I would like to see you try. You didn't even bring your little crossbow and pet human.
Bandos: No, if you wanted to fight me, you would already be dead. So why did you come, Zanik?
Zanik: I've noticed you've stopped calling me "little goblin."
Bandos: You shared that mental connection through my pendant. You know what I am.
Bandos: Strength is all. You and that human faced me where even gods would cower. I would have dismissed it as foolishness, had you not won.
Bandos: My armies still require a commander if you wish, Zanik of the Dorgeshuun.
Zanik: You think I would side with you willingly, after all the destruction you caused? Armadyl told me all about the pain you caused your own people! How could anyone be so selfish?!
Bandos: Hah, so that hypocritical old bird put you up to this? Oh, if you knew the things
he
had done to his own homeworld.
Zanik: But he's a good god! He's just trying to protect his people!
Bandos: As he sits there sending them off to their deaths! Do you think Saradomin cared about his people as he stepped over a crater full of them and felt the power of the world in his hand?
Bandos: The strong will always seek dominion over the weak, and the weak will never withstand the strong.
*Zanik looks to Armadyl's tower, where he scowls*
Zanik: We'll see.

-Zanik leaves the tower, talks with the godless members north of Falador. They reinforce what Bandos said about the gods, and practically beg her to join them, given she's the only one of the group with any actual god-fighting experience.
-As she agrees, a blast fires overhead, and Bandos' tower explodes
-Zanik watches from a distance as Armadyl crushes Bandos' remains and nicks his mace as a trophy, covering her ears during his screech
-Zanik returns to Dorgesh-Khaan...
to make a new crossbow.
Maldwyn's Diary
*the crystal-bound diary is soaked with rain, leaving the dates illegible, and seems to have been chewed on by something*
Entry --
...showed him the necklace just this morning, and his eyes glittered like crystal. The shard resonated with Seren's song, as a reminded that Seren still watches over us all.
Entry --
A thief broke into Angof's house just last evening, and I rushed to help, but couldn't believe the scene! Epycwyn had tried to pilfer Angof's necklace, but Angof snapped awake and...oh gods...
the blood
, I had never seen him like this before. The necklace was nowhere to be found.
Entry --
...strange crystals overtaking his hands, and even lumps on his head. He eventually came clean to me. He had
eaten
the crystal.
entry --
We felt closer to Seren than ever before, and had even gained the ability to sing
ourselves
like the very crystal we had fused with. We embraced our new forms, singing ourselves whatever bodies we pleased. Angof had decided to realize his, or rather,
her
inner self. As for me, I've always felt my physique
lacking
in certain areas.
entry --
...Happily married at last. Sure, there were some odd looks by the elders, but where had tradition gotten us so far? Surely these new forms were Seren's way of helping us accept change?
Entry --
The world gate fell silent today.
Good riddance!
Seren still shines within us stronger than ever. The elves abandoned us, abandoned Seren! She was here all along, in the crystals...
Entry --
...weeks since I was dragged out of the town and left to fend for myself in the woods. I only hope one day Angof can forgive me. I watch her from the woods, covering her scar with her hands. Her delicious crystal hands...
Entry --
...Fend off the terrible hunger by gnawing on crystal twigs, the rocks, anything but her. Sooner eat my own hands. My...crystal....
Behind The Scenes:
Well that was a ride to write, from start to finish! I think I've learned my lesson here to have an outline ready before writing, because this story was all over the place. And I think I'm keeping the dates blank because I'm not good enough with this to make an accurate timeline. Posting it anyway, in the hopes we can get this thread kicking again with some new lore.
I decided to go with Angof's husband, and make him out to be one of the more progressive among them, being one of the earliest to embrace the crystals, and the first to fall to the Addiction. There's still a lot of unexplored territory though, particularly with their traditionalist culture before Seren left them, and the nasty beast that's locked away.
So the White and Black knights had a dust up over a Sword and Banner, yet who went after the Sword most successfully huh?
Has anyone considered that Prince Anlaf, went to the makeover mage and is now Princess Alice?
That facial scar could be from a close call assassination attempt. So Prince Anlaf goes to the makeover mage and switches gender, then changes his name. Then, the now she, picks up where Yelps leaves off running a garish looking game of chance, and so no one thinks twice to look at them. Especially with the Imperial Guard stopping anyone from seeing Prince Anlaf!
So with the treasure hoard in hand, they run their MXT promo and uses adventurers to grab the sword of Raddallin for herself, with Banner sure to follow. And not a one of her enemies would think twice about it... After all Anlaf is in Burthorpe castle, isn't he?
And so her..his..oh whatever!
her! cunning plan maybe be close to fruition to snatch the throne back from under the noses of everyone who was after them!
That dastardly Makeover mage is up to no good, I tell you!

If that was true, he'd already have possession of all known Godswords, in addition to Saradomin swords and Zamorakian spears. ("This is so non-canon, it hurts" -Vegeta, DBZA)
With that kind of power, he could probably unite half of Gielinor, never mind just Asgarnia.
