There are two more parts planned, but I didn't want to rush them, so they will not be released by Monday. Perhaps I will release the next part when the first half of the city comes out, and the last part when the second half of the city comes out...

I am writing this from the perspective of someone in the Avansie caravan carrying the Godsword. It is based on my Godsword and the Forge! idea thread lore wise. Guthix ending the 3r dage meant this never got where it was going.
Thank Armadyl for this mist, it's hampered the efforts of the ambushers to cut us off. Our mages are doing everything they can to enhance its effects to aid us. No matter where we turn the scouts have been reporting enemy forces. There is no way we can retreat to our main base. A call for help went out, but without being able to tell our allies what we carry, I seriously doubt any will come as the enemies currant activities are tying up far to many resources, there is hardly anyone to spare.
We narrowly avoided a host body today, we picked off some of their scouts at the carvan leaders insistence. I think he is a fool as this will only tell the enemy where to concentrate his efforts, we are running out of time.
The mist will not last much longer, our mages are nearing exhaustion. The enemy still purses and it is only a matter of time before we will be forced to do battle. We will be gravely outnumbered. I took it upon myself to send out scouts to check if the route through the frozen waste was open or not.
The scouts have reported back and only a small force stands in the way and the cold of that area has taken a toll on them. The leader has reluctantly agreed that we will have to retreat to the Temple of the Ancients, though we have to move quickly to get there. Those who fall behind. . .
We arrived safely enough and the artisan's guards easily dealt with the Temples guardians. Kree'ara will arrive soon with help, but I must move quickly if I am to hide our cargo. I cannot risk it falling into enemy hands. I wish we could have avoided this place, but there are secrets only the Master Artisans know about the Temple. Secrets that will keep it safe and has gone unnoticed since the Temples construction.
continued...

It is done. The cargo is finally secure. This is the only place left to hide The Godsword and the only place it can be reforged. Bringing the sword here may have been a mistake, but it was the only path left open to us.
The general is here and another call for help has gone out, but no one answers and the enemy is upon us.
This cannot continue, the battle does not go well, but the Artisans had a meeting and have an idea. We will tell the Allies exactly what is here and play on their greed. We will create replica pieces and scatter them through out the temple. And we will close the way to its hiding place, that will conceal it from prying eyes.
There are those who are now manipulating the warriors here and this masquerade of an alliance has shown itself for what it truly is. A farce.
The final alliance has broken up, greed for the sword is rampant. Now no one trusts anyone. The Temple has been carved up into armed camps and those who know the sword's location are beyond the enemies grasp. It had to be done... You may ask why I did this? Well I will tell you this much. As long as no one faction ever controls the Temple of Ancients and with no Master Artisan to help them, then The Godsword and The Forge will be forever beyond their reach!
It is time for me to go...
Master Artisan of Armadyl
The above is rough draft and a work of fiction, is not lore. It's a letter/journal and last testament of a A Master Artisan that was with the Godsword Caravan.
What do you think?

I just don't quite get the part of why would Nex's Prison be built in the same place as such an important location that was supposed to be secure and empty?
I just don't quite get the part of why would Nex's Prison be built in the same place as such an important location that was supposed to be secure and empty?
Well, its accessed via that are at the very least, but at the end of the day if you didn't know that something else was there and you needed the area, you'd build on it. Nex's prison was definitely a casse of "it can only go there!"
What most people forget about Nex's prison is that the area had very special conditions. People utialised that natural effect with a spell in order to trap Nex. So in this case that rare event was there first. Yet no one looked any further into it than "OH wow that cold is a killer!"
There's plenty of cases where something extremely unpleasant or something archeologically priceless has been built on. You'd only have to ask and answer why someone would do that to have your answer.
I can picture Sliske being the one to break the news about where the Godsword is hidden just so he can swipe any build up in the Forge before anyone knows which way is up. As well as him trolling the lot of them for not knowing what was under their feet all along.
In this scenario the factions would have looked for such a thing but never found it, and so declare it a myth. Armadyl wouldn't have needed to know it was their either if his Artisans were the to find it and hide it. Then when the factions trap Nex if they then foisted the building work off on to Armdylians so they could do 'more important things' then no no one except thoe few Artisan would ever be aware of what was hidden beneath the Temple.

I'm curious what everyone's headcanon is as far as the origin of their player.
Well, here it goes...
The old wizard rushed around the labratory, hurriedly turning nobs and switches on the machine that took up most of the room in the what-would-have-been-expansive-now-cramped cellar.
"Doc, slow down- I still don't understand how this is supposed ta-"
The little mad man ran around, spinning a valve, paying no heed to his hired help on the stairs.
"I just- I just don't want you ta blow yur self up or anyting, Doc."
The old wizard sighed
"Jonas, that's very kind of you, but I really don't have time to indulge your concerns right now. You got your money, what do you care."
The question was troubling to the young man. He had retrieved the 'sample' like the doctor asked, and though he mainly did it to help his wallet- he felt he was sacrificing the old mans safety for his own material wealth. He didn't want the guilt or trouble of weighing the consequences of his purses growth though, while he did need the money- he wasn't quite the cold blooded mercenary his brother was. The machine hummed menacingly.
Jonas jumped in front of the doctor as he tried to read a guage-
"Jonas- I really can't- agh- will you just move!"
"How about you explain to me what it is you're doing again"
"Funny, you didn't seem interested before you got your payment. Why care now?"
"Just, ugh, just tell me alright, I want ta know, okay?"
Doc looked at him, slightly confused. A student? No... his mind wasn't fit for the knowledge he sought to bestow. But he would indulge this sudden fancy, if only to get back to work.
"Huh, remember when I tried to tell you about my theories?"
"We call it being a hero"
Jonas shaped the empty contours of his mind. It took a while.
"Uhm, how something can be made from nothing?"
"No- you dolt,
nothing
can come from nothing. Magic lies in the transmutation of preexisting energy and matter- I don't want you falling into the trap those superficial alchemists have- thinking themselves gods for pulling matter from nebulous space."
"But... don't they create something then? from nothing?"
"uh, just because we don't understand the source of energy or power- doesn't mean there isn't one. They act like they're gods but really they're just displaying their own foolish ignorance. You see, Jonas, my theory is that the energy of magic- of life itself, indeed, is fluctuating all around us. Invisible to you or I."
To Jonas credit, it sounded like a strange theory, especially for the time.
"What about dem, uhm, rune altars- how'd ya explain them?"
"Merely taps into the elemental energy surrounding us- excuse me"
Doc finished turning one last *****, reading one last pressure guage on the main pipe of the machine, before giving a long satisfied sigh.
"Yes, while the founders of runecrafting were clever, I plan on performing a much more intensive task."
"Which is?"
Doc gave a crooked half-smile.
"Rather than tap into the energy of our planet, I'm going to tap into the life energy of our cosmos- of the very universe around us. Next I'll funnel it into the clay you obtained. Now I just sit back, and observe, as the magical makeup of the very universe itself is revealed to us in our own clay sample."
"But- I've heard dem stories from the priests. They say in the realms outside our own... thats where demans dwell ain't it!? You can't be trying to bring some in on us!"
Doc rolled his eyes.
"Jonas you idiotic capacity for the mishandling of information never ceases to amaze."
"What?"
"Rest assured, no demons will come from my machine."
Jonas eyed the machine warily.
"We call it being a hero"
