Another thing is that Zaros's plan to take on the elder gods does not seem very good.
Perhaps not at first. But he's said to be a god of planning, so I would be quite disappointed if he didn't have a backup plan in case he messes up.

stop gravebumping.
If you pay attention, I have had significant discussions today on this thread. I am not gravebumping.
Perhaps, but this is the third thread you saved from the maw of
Xau-Tak
Chewie.
Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

Of course it doesn't. Trying to stop the elder gods is attempting the impossible, however it has to be done.

I do not really like Seren very much, for multiple reasons, the biggest one being that she seems to be too Guthixian/too influenced by Guthix, and I despise Guthix's ideals regarding "balance." Guthix would let a volcano destroy a civilization just to restore "balance."
I don't think Seren would let a volcano explode to restore balance. She believes in harmony, not balance. The concept of harmony, balance, and equality (armadyl) may sound alike but they are very much different.
Harmony is when two or more factors work together to achieve something that they would not normally be able to accomplish on their own. This can be used in both a destructive and creative sense.
Equality: Equality is the belief that all beings are born equal in rights despite being of different race, religion etc. These rights are things such as a right to life, no torture, no discrimination because of their ethnicity and preferences in men and/or women.
As for Balance, in Guthix's case, would be to believe there should always be an equilibrium amount of goodness and evil in the world. An action must have an equivalent reaction. In doing so, Guthix believed the anima mundi of the world will be in a frozen state of neither growth or declination, causing the Elder Gods to never wake up or the planet to die.
I worship Mah, for she is mah homegirl! The correct adjective for Mah's followers are: Mahomies, Mah-homeboys, or Mah-homegirls.

I don't know whether Seren would allow a volcano to destroy anyone or not, but her prolonged time with Guthix seemed to have convinced her of at least some of his ideals by the time she talked with Zaros on Gielinor. Besides being heavily influenced by Guthix, she also was a weak leader.
Also, Guthix and his followers do not appear to treat balance merely as a means to prevent the Elder Gods from waking up but rather as an end in itself. Guthix essentially allowed Sliske to kill him because he felt like his power was too great of an imbalance, even though his life did not appear to be waking up the Elder Gods. Seren implies as much, saying that Guthix kept the Anima Mundai in balance but that that is not a solution now that the other gods have returned. There must be a better, more morally appealing solution to the Elder God problem. And if there is not, the Elder Gods will create a new cycle of the universe from which intelligent life can grow and thrive (seeing as they do not have Mah to prevent complex life anymore).
Balance can also represent fairness. If you have a meeting of 5 races, and 4 representatives, one from 4 of 5 races, there is not balance. The 5th race is not represented, yet the councils are in sets of 4. You say "We don't need Balance." yet here there is unfair lack of representation that could be fixed by Balance.
This is a completely different conception of balance than what we have been talking about, so it does not merit a response.
and yet you responded to it.

I'm not going to sit here and waste my time trying to make you understand the concept of Balance, it's not going well, and I'm not sure I want someone so closed-minded and unable to comprehend such things following Zaros. Azzanadra is disappointed in you.
Go for Seren. We don't have enough Serenists in the world.
We need more of them to... maintain the Balance.
