What do you mean with "working for the penguins"? We're enemies of the KGP but friends with Ping and Pong and in the debt of the Fettuccine Mafia. And we have no idea where we stand with the Pescallion...

As for Mallum's dialogue, I'm not sure what you mean. I was referring to the fact that her behaviour and personality is not in line with her appearances in The Slug Menace and Postbag 40.
Bizarre Boron Fusswell, scryer extraordinaire. OSRS: POH ideas & RS3 minigames & achievement ideas !

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.

Yes, we're their enemies, but it'd be a sort of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" situation, sort of like how we had to work with the likes of the Black Knights to fight the Pest Queen. I was just under the impression that the Pescallion could recognize us an enemy precisely because of our encounters with the KGP.

I meant that Mother Mallum's dialogue is just horribly generic, which makes the difference between her portrayal in The Slug Menace and the Postbag all the more disappointing.

I've also finished out the rest of my reserves, if you're interested.

Dungeoneering in SitW imo is the classic a developer putting their past work into every project they do. Mod Jack does this too inserting Demons or Loarnab into everything he does and many developers at Jagex value their particular work way too highly and think it is oh so important and should be in everything even to the detriment of the content or at the disrespect at past developers work. Osborne is somebody I would include in this with the 6th age.

Jagex also struggle with the friend enemy relationships. Notably in both the Troll and Ogre quests which basically die out because we are friends with the main threats.

Draken your pieces are normally really well thought out and realized, this thread is no exeption, but you have a tendency to bump things until they simply become spam. I like this thread but I don't want to see it bumped to high hell in six months. Let the community decide if your content is worth returning to the front page.

That being said I don't really have much to add to the thread SitW was bad I don't think you'll find any one who disagrees with you. Still this is a well made thread.

HELLO,
food sacks.

You're a dead man, I hope you know that.

OT: I agree with absolutely everything in this thread. The TK series was my original favorite when I first became a member, and to totally see it destroyed with something as atrocious as SitW was still makes me shake my head today.

Wishlist: Rework this quest next.

You do not worship the pillar? Heretic!

well the pillar doesn't actually exist anymore since it was changed to a statue...

I have noticed your kind does tend to blindly stumble forward towards danger simply because it exists. What is your word for that?

I don't really mind the way she was killed. i thought it was funny, like the light humor that seems to pop up in every quest now and then.
If there was no fight at all, it would've been fantastic.
Imagine her spotting us, starting to flail / thrash about and hitting the pillar by accident, killing herself.
(think Alice: Madness returns giant robot with the hare and mouse with robot malfunction)

i will agree that there should be more lore to explore, especially about mallum & the slugs.

Ah, reminds me of the rage on release :p .

I'd have to largely agree with most of what you've said. It failed to actually be a sequel in terms of story and theme. It was a hollow shell constructed by someone who it felt had only read the synopsis of the previous quests (there's this evil slug, and we need to kill her in this quest. Also involve the other two major characters in the story). It's a shame, as if it had just been a funny dungeoneering-based quest, with us learning a bit more about seekers say, it probably would have been fairly liked.

I must say I really hated the group control puzzles though. Their challenge wasn't in complexity (it was literally 'pull a different lever with each character), but with the bug-filled mechanics which were painful to use. Content shouldn't ever have its difficulty originate from annoyance to us
