While some epic quests like While Guthix Sleeps are, indeed, amongst my favorites, I feel like some quests should deserve more attention.

A Soul's Bane:
I'm so fond of the concept of fighting your "inner demons". I wish there could be a spiritual sequel to this quest (same concept, but different settings). RuneScape lacks true, thorough psychological challenges and I think A Soul's Bane, although not quite perfect, was a good start.

This was the first quest I played as a member and I still find it the creepiest content to date!

I like A Soul's Bane, but it's not really explained where the strange power that corrupted Tolna came from, and that's a pity. Apparently, a rework is planned. Still, I think The Slug Menace was creepier. The sea slug series as a whole would've been great, if not for SitW...

That would easily be While Guthix Sleeps! Unfortunately TWW came in at a close second because it lacked the journey that an epic quest like WGS had.

Everything about it was great, unlike more recent quests, you actual go out and forage for items as well as actually go on a quest; An adventure. The lore, the plot. Everything was perfect. Except the Balance Elemental being a total enigma for the past few years. (and then getting trolled when we found out it wasn't a Guardian of Guthix, even though it was originally human but Ocellus apparently is more worthy.)

Quests in Runescape are one of the main attractions in this game. We have had many enjoyable quests. Some are lore-filled, some are fun - som are complex and some are simple. Some might anger you such as the last Elemental Workshop quest. In Runescape there are quests for every taste, and I have yet to know about a game that can compare itself to Runescape in that area.

Personally I enjoy the 'old quests' the most. By that I mean the quests where we have to think and wonder - where we have to have find items and where we have to move about. Where there were requirements needed that one had to work for. I think the stream of current quests are far too 'easy' as you don't need to get items yourself and the quest is too often restricted to at too small area. I generally don't like to be guided through the quests as we have been in the past.

As that is said, I can enjoy quests such as these as well. Two great quests of the newer type are 'One Piercing Note' and 'The World Wakes'. Especially the last one is a great quest and to this date the most emotional for me.

That being said, I love the old quests such as the quests featured in the Elven quest lines, the Myreque and the Viking ones.

There are many favorites such as 'The Void Stares Back' and 'Branches of Darkmeyer', but the one and only thus far is by no doubt 'While Guthix Sleeps'. That's one quest I like. It's lore-filled, action packed and has a great length. There are obstacles - but they are not too hard as that shouldn't be the focus of the quests. Puzzles are in there too. It has a quite hefty requirement - which makes it more of an accomplishment.

The sequel - Ritual of the Mahjarrat - was really hyped - and as it by no doubt was a great quest - it was a bit disappointing for me and was not as exciting as WGS. But hey - still a good quest.
Now I'm looking forward to the Elder Gods, the finales in some great series, more God quests and Dragonkin - we have much to look forward to! Quests are the best

Lime's Picks

While Guthix Sleeps - The Mother of All Quests, with a hint of Nostalgia
The World Wakes - RIGHT IN THE FEELS
The Branches of Darkmeyer - This one is probably the most well done Myreque quest IMO.
A Clockwork Syringe - Simply Hysterical
My Arm's Big Adventure - Also Really Funny
Diamonds in the Rough & Stolen Hearts - What can I say, I liked how they redepicted Al-Kharid, and clarified some desert backstory
Glorious Memories - It felt... Well, it felt like it answered some questions quite nicely
Elemental Workshop III - Nostalgia, mostly. I've always loved the EW series too.
Some Like it Cold - This one was really funny, but also showed the plight of the Penguins really nicely.
Ritual of the Mahjarrat - It was a good quest, it tied up the Rise of Lucien series nicely, even though it didn't live up to some of our guesses of what it'd be like.
Darkness of Hallowvale - This one really set the scene and the mood for the rest of the Myreque Series. Good Example of an Old-School quest, Super Underrated. Loved it.
Cook's Assistant - NOSTALGIA.
The Defender of Varrock - I liked the... Inventiveness behind Varrock being Invaded again. It was very nice.
Missing my Mummy - I love Desert Lore. This shed alot of light on 2nd Age Kharidian Desert.
Meeting History - Good Lore, it did good.
Temple at Senntisten - I liked the ONE usage of the Mahjarrat shapeshifting, and it also queued up RotM very nicely.
Monkey Madness - Mostly Nostalgia, and also it was a fun quest.
Do No Evil - Continuation of the Monkeys is always good. A Nice blend of Ridiculousness, Seriousness, Monkeys, and the Desert.
A Forgettable Tale - It was a good use of "Humorous Dwarves with Dark and Serious Circumstances." It's underrated IMO.

Least Favorite Quest - Bringing Home the Bacon
- Trying too hard, too soon after TWW. Bleh.

I think it was branches of Darkmeyer, the one where we first go into Meirditch, and have to hop through the roof tops, i remember being so frustrated and immersed in that quest looking for the next building to jump to or climb on, and all while trying to avoid Vampyres. That whole quest series is by far my favorite. I also feel nostalgic thinking about Murder Mystery
