There is no way gnomes can be finished in 1 quest we don't have a clue what's going on. There are no villains or any real plot. I personally blame Prisoner Of Glouphrie which should have moved the plot on which it sadly didn't.

I wouldn't say it is impossible to wrap gnomes up in one quest if they started answering questions straight away and planned it properly. It would have to be done carefully to avoid turning out like salt in the wound but it is possible. I would like it done well and hopefully when it is in development, they will release one of those consultation threads of the forums so players can point out plot points that need including/answering. If they are determined to end the series in one quest, then I think it is best we work to make that quest as good as possible.

The thing with Salt in the Wound (and to a lesser degree, Fate of the Gods) is that it completely ignored the previous quests in the series and literally everyone was out of character (except Eva, but she was new, and Ezekial). It wasn't a terrible quest, but it was a terrible finale.

As for gnomes, I imagine Bolrie will be able to tell us something that will lay out the plot for the next quest. We have the Glouphrie/Glou*k mystery, Glough is still under house arrest (what an appropriate punishment for warmongering and conspiring against the crown) and there's also the fact that the ties with the Red Axe have been severed. Also, Arposandra and mutation of the Anima Mundi. There are many interesting plot points, but they are still to be woven together.

There isn't a plot to finish off though. There are questions certainly but no actual plot. They would need to establish and finish a plot while answering all questions in one quest. The problem is Path of Glouphrie basically was a continuation of the spying plot at which point we tried to get into Arposandra but failed.

Then we returned not to check out Arposandra but instead to free a prisoner. If we had went and discovered villainous stuff that was going on fine but we went for a particular reason.

The video suggested we'd be stopping the gnomes of Arposandra but I ask why? They haven't done anything evil in some time except stop trespassers. I mean if it was Glouphrie then maybe there would be a case but it isn't.

Some semblance of plot needs established. I mean we haven't managed to do our investigation yet and that investigation was important to reestablishing the plot. The plot was stop spies then it became investigate Arposandra. Path was hijacked a bit by WGS so they stalled it for that quest but then in Prisoner there should have been an investigation even if it was a filler quest. Unfortunately it never ended up that way.

So we now need a 3rd quest in which to do our investigation which is ridiculous. 2 I would be fine with 3 is pushing it. So investigate, find out what's going on, answer all questions and stop them before it's too late all in one quest.

Of course Glough etc isn't necessary cause he's part of the monkey split off.

I think the reason we're getting less quests is because Jagex is focusing on the Elder God and Young Gods' quest series, whereas in previous years there were no World Events, no Elder God Crises, no God Wars etc. (you get the point).

Jagex created the PTTP polls and the majority of players decided they wanted to focus on the Elder God series. Graphical updates, new lore, new areas and environments, reworks of existing quests, new minigames, the Invention skill, elf city and many others, take up a lot of time.

Rephrase:
5th age was 169 years long
God Wars age was several thousand

Are you suggesting the Sixth Age = 3 Years and then we move to the 7th Age?
Year 1 6th Age
Year 2 6th Age
Year 3 6th Age
Year 1 7th Age

Actually, it has been said that time would not move on at all because it would be too complicated (people aging, dying etc. Heck, even now the students at the Misthalin Centre of Excellence have been sitting the same exams for months) and we are now still in the very very beginning of the first year of the Sixth Age. So the Seventh Age (if it comes and I hope it doesn't) will begin before the first year of the Sixth will have finished.
