Like yeah new skill is sick, i remember back in the noob days as a kid i got very excited for new ones. The other side is the old-school feel, if it passes many will feel robbed of OS, but then again the game is no longer old-school is it? Raids? Torva? Vorky? Zulrah? They are clearly not old school, but people grown accustomed to them. OS community is very interesting and difficult. Its a hard job to satisfy atleast 75% of them. I just hope if the new skill passes that its gona be beneficial to the game, keep old-school feel and grant interesting content. I believe no matter the riots the new skill will eventually become a part of this community. Jagex is goin to have a rough time deciding what to add so it doesn't become EOC all over again. I my self voted no cuz i don't want it 100%. Because i believe that there's more stuff to do with the current content rather than putting new one. Like desert areas that are black squares. Got em.

What is this with if you change this the game no longer is OSRS!
Even if they did release every rs3 did over some time span it still would be OSRS!!!

Your sense doesn't make any sense in the normal world.
Instead of having this game updates, growing and still be enjoyable over the years to come.

You like it more, if, jagex, would let the game die a slow and painful dead.

OSRS has 4x the ammount of RS3 players on a daily bassis.
The game just like any other RPG MMO would die if there was no updates.
If there are no updates you would get to 99 on everything and that woulda be that, time to log out and never come back, ever again.

The game is no longer what is used to be in 2007, thank god for that.
Blastfurnace and mining mini game are only a few of the better updates.
Instead of needing to compete with a bot farm, now I can mine without wanting to kill myself.

It seems like you have never played osrs back in the day and have no a single clue about what you are talking about.

The bad changes are what they are asking for right now.
Pures, make it even easier for them?!?
There has always been a specific way of playing of you wanted to make a specific character, therefor changing that into be just a click a button and now def gets no exp is a game destroyer.
Having a specific character no longer has any up or downsides.
Destroying the way the game is being played and which worked perfectly.
Sometimes people think they know, but do they really?

I understand where you’re coming from , but this game is already very different to the game in 2007. There’s been countless updates, all very successful.

Obviously there’s going to be worries about a new skill, but let’s see what they put forward!
Road to max

FACTS:

OSRS is losing players and having a negative revenue growth of 7%.
RS3 is gaining and having a 20% growth in revenue.
The game industry set back 1.1% in growth.

When OSRS is far behind RS3 and the game industry, they trimmed payroll and other expenses just as former OSRS Product Manager Mat K told us what Management told him that OSRS have to lose services and Jmods when its 6 month life support ran out if they didn't add more MTX.

They can't afford to produce game mode content like Leagues, DMM and GIM anymore. They also said even if they had another DMM they will strip the cash prize, even when it was only like $20k.

In March 2022, OSRS stopped to reveal any future project information and shortly afterward their product manager and the entire analytical team left Jagex. Their 6 month life support probably had run out in September 2022 already. Hence, they have no choice but to just copy content from RS3 and recycle content like Bounty Hunter from the trash bin. So voting or not is just academic, as we are going to see all kind of RS3 content, mind it Mahjarrat, Dragonkin, D&D like Evil Tree, Wilderness Flash Events, or Skills like Dungeoneering or Player Owned Port which they will just call it "Sailing".

Mod Ash claimed on Twitter that he interprets Old School RuneScape as a 'alternate universe' to RS3. Frankly it's a good head canon for me and I do think with this game being what it is and growing surely I'd expect a new skill nonetheless.

My original OSRS account i made on day 2 of release, i stopped playing about 6 months later and from memory, a whole lot of people did as well. this proves the game can not run off nostalgia and memories.
OSRS is already old school by name, we have a ton of content we did not have in 2007!
I totally see the point of people not wanting a new skill and they are all valid points like your own!

A new skill will surely bring something very fresh to the game and will bring people back to see what the fuss is about! people coming back = bonds = OSRS stays healthy!

Like it or not, players need to accept the fact new content will happen regardless of voice to keep QOL going. If they don't like it, they might as well quit right now.
