Now for the updates:

Elite Dungeons:

What a surprise, Jagex catering to top level boss fighters who have so many billions of GP no one else can even afford a partyhat who doesn't elite boss fight, or buy thousands of bonds.

A dungeon made for high level PVM, basically catering to the top level boss fighters while the majority of players will never play it or even attempt it seems a waste of development time to me.

Player-Owned Farm

This I can get behind. I think a lot of players will enjoy this.

Solak

More dead content most will never play as far as the majority of players is concerned,

Master Skillcape Perks & Improving 99 Skill Perks

Really boring.

I'm really excited for ALL of these, but I guess it is bad because YOU personally have made out of nowhere assumptions, believing you know a game better than the company that make it.

I bet there are Mods reading this, wishing they were allowed to say this - so I'll say it for them.

Or maybe you are in the 1% who likes this content, while the 99% don't want it.

The Player-Owned Farm I think will be popular, the Solak boss, I don't think so, the Elite Dungeon, probably popular if it can be soloed reasonably, but not if its near impossible to solo.

Thank you for once again proving my point.

You don't know more about the community than the people who make it. Please don't assume you do.

Hey everyone,

Note: The information about the price change only applies to
new players
, read more >here<

This opening statement isn't really accurate. Even though I've been a player for over 7 years on more than 1 account, the price change does apply to me.

Besides my primary account, I have a casual F2P account that has been regularly active for over 5 years. I occasionally get temporary membership for special events but it is not subject to the grandfathered rate I have on my primary. It is not by any means a new account, yet will be affected by the price increase for membership, or by in-game bond prices, whichever I choose to use.

In addition, as I read it, the price changes to Runecoins, Bonds and Treasure Hunter keys will apply to everyone as well, new or not.

I can appreciate the need for an increase to membership cost now and again, but not in conjunction with all the micro-transactions that have become a part of everyday play.

Eliminating, or at least greatly reducing MTX, would go a long way I think towards acceptance of cost increases for your customers.

They arent wrong, it just ppl misinterpreting it.

"New" players counts for every "new" member acc you make after that date you know?

Just because you're paying a certain price on one acc, doesnt mean thats the price you'll pay on all future acc.

I don't understand what happened to this game. Most of us just want smaller updates that come in every week to keep us busy, but we end up waiting months for something big that is disappointing.

I would have been happy if you just kept adding towns and training spots and slightly better stuff slowly over the years but instead you keep trying to reinvent the wheel over and over and bringing in things that ruin everything else.

The game also has been set up in a way that makes the best way to train, not playing the game, saving up keys, waiting for BXP weekened, or for them to make the content xp way faster and afk. A bunch of my last 99's are due to you adding a fast AFK option and just logging in and throwing my billions of lamps on it until BXP weekend and then getting 99 in like 2 days without even playing the rest of the year.

I think a lot of the problem lies in something you guys aren't legally allowed to acknowledge or talk about.

"The investors want more money by X date." That's probably what a lot of it is.

Also even though you are making MORE money NOW. It is killing the long term profit of the game. Before MTX you had a LOT of loyal people playing the game that would have played FOREVER and even paid HIGHER membership but instead you alienated them and ran them off because a mysterious group of people wanted more money faster.

Yes you are making more profit in the short term, but you are taking that money from the end of the games lifespan. It might be years and the effects might be felt now, but most of us were happy before MTX and would have been happier with a smaller team and smaller updates.

Besides most of the time it just feels like the game is trying to manipulate us into buying MTX. Which no one likes to be milked. I'll be keeping my membership as long as the game exists because I've been here since I was 11 and 13 on this account (didn't like my OG username and started over.) and I am now 25. So I'm on this boat till it sinks.

I never said I should. And that isn't my complaint.

Yes, I know that a new player is a new account. But my 5 year account is still affected by the upcoming price increase.

Basically from what's in the news post about the price increase, anyone that has been playing the game falls into the category of a "new player" on their account, no matter how old it is, if their membership lapses for a mere 14 days.

There are members in my clan that are out on military deployment for months at a time. Others in university that need to focus on studies and let membership go for several weeks or months. It's sad that these people have to either keep up a subscription for a game during a time they cannot play, or are forced to pay the increased rates when they can get back into the game.

Also "new players" see just a price, not a price increase. Instead of "new players" the term "returning members" might have been more appropriate in the opening statement.
