The decision for these God caps to be made was because we thought they would have been the most popular. The reason Guthix was not included was because he was not a God Faction at the time of production. If you're not into any God in particular, the Godless cap is really nice! Personally I would support Seren and Saradomin but the Godless cap is my personal fave .

You could at least attempt to make it less obvious who the mods and staff are actively shilling for ... gee, I wonder why the Godless swept that Tuska event?

It's so blatant these days, it makes me pick sides against the Godless just to spite Jagex for the constant bias.

Everyone complaining about the price of the hats have clearly never sprung for a quality piece of headwear before. US $35 and CAN $35 really aren't that bad; actually, that's a fairly low price for a high-quality cap, especially considering that they're a limited production run, and anything that's a limited production run is going to cost more to make. Outside of the UK, Canadians get the best deal here because of the low value of the Canadian dollar (it's at the lowest value it's ever been in 11 years). The only people who I think should be complaining are those who would have to pay in Euros, as 35 of those suckers is definitely a hefty price.

As for no Guthix hat, I can understand it. Guthix doesn't even want to be remembered, so wearing a Guthix hat would be going against his very last request.

I can't believe so few people in this thread understand this basic fact. lrn2loreples
Furthermore, the mods have already made abundantly clear that these hats are meant to represent the god factions which exist in the 6th Age. There is no Guthixian faction in the 6th age.

There is one! A big player based faction. Jagex just refuses to acknowledge it!
Thinks Treasure Hunter uses the same mechanics Free**um games, and thereby targets people who are at risk for gambling addiction.

exclusive in game cosmetic, don't premier golden members get the exclusive items for free? Been long time since last one*

all my This

my gold vip should auto grant me the in-game promo item.

wt* censor.

The reason this promo exists is to circumvent it most likely. Hence no prepaid card stuff considering we got them every other months for years.

Also why no item has been created most likely.

At first I was going to disagree...but they really haven't created any promo items since what? Beginning of 2014? Very dirty way to cheat the players that payed much more to get the same content.

Also, does anyone else find it strange that the faction with canonically the largest army is an underdog among players?

I'll assume you mean the Saradominist faction right? Because Jagex have been doing all they can short of outright revising old quests and lore in order to paint Saradomin and his followers as malicious jerks and bigoted extremists. Meanwhile, the Godless, Zamorakians, etc. are getting portrayed in an adoring light these days.

Also, notice how in the original news post , the one and only cap not pictured is the Saradomin one, while the Godless cap is put prominently at the top of the stack. It's like Jagex are beating us over the head with who they obviously want to win.

Allow me to state the following one final time:

Guthix wanted to die and wants to remain forgotten. Those who wish to maintain or revive his memory are actively going against his wishes.

what all of you fail to get is why people are upset. yes i know perfectly well the entire lore surrounding the events of Guthix's death and i'm sure these other players read and watched the same posts and vids over it that i did, so it's not that we didn't "lrn2lore." it's just that based upon all that i have learned about Guthix through my nearly 10 years of playing; i don't believe that he would want his Entire Following to just forget all about him, and thus also his teachings. i'll agree to all the lore they made stating Guthix was asleep to maintain a laissez-faire ruling system for Gielinor, but i don't believe Guthix's was stupid enough to think the world could survive without a god making sure balance was kept within the world. yes, Guthix let the world take it's own course, but that doesn't mean he thought the world would function well without someone keeping the balance of the world.
the main problem, though, is that many people have aligned themselves to Guthix over the years that he's been around as one of the top 3 gods, and then jagex just suddenly released a bunch of lore and the world wakes quest; killing Guthix and essentially saying "well Guthix actually had all these other beliefs which tell you to forget him when he dies, so that balance can be sustained" and ever since have acted as if he never existed and encourage layers to forget him for a new god as well.
