I remember the days when it was meant to be a DAILY requirement for the staff responsible for the Forums...

I remember them days too and thats when we had lots and lots of staff to do that. Sadly these days it's down to 1 person and if She is busy then it's left.

Unfortunately, the "person X is busy" argument is fundamentally flawed: it is basically saying "everything else is considered more important than providing responses to paying customers"...

Which again merely proves the point that the system is broken, and needs fixing.

Something else worth pointing out is that, in total, it would likely take the same amount of time regardless of whether its done weekly.
The frequency of posts in FMR doesnt vary that much. If it takes an half an hour for a weeks worth, then its reasonable to assume that it would take four hours for eight weeks worth.
The main difference being that the latter scenario is way more of a pain in the ass since, by definition, it takes a bigger chunk of the day and also - being so long ago, it is likely harder to work out the context.

Not sure everything involved in the process. I know the last time there were 30 reports Kari said it took the better part of a day to sort out. So no idea what the investigations entail per report but seems to be far more in depth than I imagined. There's currently over twice that. So in a perfect world that's at least 2 days dedicated to nothing but the FMR reports. We seriously need more curators or a better system... Seeing as we have 4 ready and willing CM's who would love nothing better than manage that system.

Problem is they have the same issue we do which is what is a blessing and a curse currently. Permission to view auto-hidden threads is gold level only.

I doubt anyone really cares which colour of mod can view hidden posts.

The whole point of FMR though was to keep the green team from seeing what was reported, wasn't it? or did I miss a memo lol...

Making it so purples can see it means inadvertently allowing the greenies access as well. Not that I care what people write about me. Never did but that's why the CM's can't currently look after FMR cause we'd be able to see it too.

This highlights the inadequacy of the current system in the first place.

It bears repeating that that the FMR system can be done away with by putting in an internal reporting system. Though then again, that would also require someone to actually, y'know, bother dealing with said reports...

So, we've passed the 2 month mark with nobody addressing the FMR thread.

Does anyone who's posted since 10 March remember what their post was about? Doubt it.

yep, but it's not going to make the thread the posts it relates to any better as you can't post on it anymore...

We may not be able to post on it any longer. We call chewy the page 51 monster. However they doesn't mean that they can't be gotten from beyond there. Just something only a gold post can go fish out of the great beyond.

For myself, I genuinely dont care if you see what I write on FMR.
On the rare occasions I post anything on FMR, you seeing my post without the ability to hide it and retort with 'Take this to FMR' kinda achieves what I was aiming for in the first place without the need to involve Mod Kari or whoever. I have never objected to an Fmod action to the point where I actually want it reversed. I simply want it noted that I believe something is wrong.

Anonymity is important because it reduces the chances of

- deliberate retribution against the reporting player
- subconscious bias against a reporting player
- any change in behaviour towards rulebreaking because of a player's tendency to report (e.g. going easy on someone to avoid the hassle of a review)

In other words: anonymity makes objectivity in FMod activity more likely. This is a good thing.
