You are suggesting removing the problem, not solving the problem from the players' perspective.

That is not what this thread is about.

You got it wrong. It is not my suggestion to remove any "problem". I am not suggesting either to remove or retain FH and/or FMR.

Regulations will require Jagex to have moderation in their games and forums. They can't just remove FMR and let volunteers alone to take actions on their domains. Duties of care are burdened onto online businesses like Jagex, not on volunteer helpers. For example, some random volunteers may think some gold selling, gambling and/or phishing sites honorable fansites and have them stickied on the RSOF but Jagex have the duties of care to determine whether the are honorable fansites or online harms THEMSELVES.

If Jagex remove FMR, they will still have to put paid moderators on FH for their parts of duties of care, regardless it is Mod Kari, Mod AI, Mod Jagexa, Mod Nick or whoever you can think of.

They should just remake the thread when a new jmod takes over. Since she is leaving soon.

Current fmr thread is 3 pages thats it. Not asking for a lot. And its been 3 months of neglect.

Just glancing at a jmods forum profile in general shows many months of gaps. They are not in a rush to use the forums anytime soon.

If they wanted to go ghetto just bother with the last 2 weeks or 2 pages of the thread. Doubt people remember what they posted after 2 weeks anyways.

I think that remarking the thread is a good idea. A fresh start. (Says me, me the eternal optimist.)

However, the reports in the current thread do need reviewing. Rather than posting responses in the thread, just send an Inbox message to the reporters about the outcome of their concerns.

I'm also for the idea to remake the thread as a sign of a fresh start; however, as mentioned above by Ms Toxicity, I believe that the concerns already reported should be looked at. If I remember correctly, there have been instances where sending a private message to the player's Message Centre made sense due to the nature of their reports. I'm not sure if Mod Kari ever did that, but previous Community Management J-Mods did send private messages to keep everything confidential and trouble-free.

It'd be interesting to see when and if Mod Miva steps in. I'm eager to see what they bring to the community :) .

I have no problem with the idea of in-box responses.

However, the occasional non-detailed "done to here" note on FMR itself would take about 10 seconds, and would greatly reassure the community that they were, in fact, being heard.

It is clear that the current system no longer works. CM clearly hasn't got enough time on their hands to run FMR.

I'm not sure if it's been suggested yet, but what would be the downside if FMR was run in a similar way to Forum Help; without the auto-hide function? Sure, FMods will be able to read accusations against themselves... but is that really that big of a deal? We can already pretty easily deduce which FMod is being reported.

My proposal:

A new FMR thread is posted, without the auto-hide button enabled. Players post on the new FMR thread and FMods/LMods/JMods hide the incoming report (whoever gets there first, hides the post). This is where FMod involvement stops completely. LMods/JMods will then take over and investigate the report and take the appropriate action. Nick and Brandon have been on these forums long enough to accurately and efficiently manage FMR themselves.

I think your proposal would work out fine, at least in the meantime while Mods Miva & Hooli gets up to speed with the ins and outs of moderation here, if they decide to take on the challenge that is! It's hard to say what other alternatives there are really. :|
Life is like a camera: Just focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don't work out, take another shot !

If Jagex/JMods can't be bothered anymore ... why should we bother to listen to comments of LMods who are most of the day absent dealing with other tasks Jagex/JMods pay them for thus only do what Jagex/JMods tell them to do.
LMods come and go whenever they feel up to, resign and walk off, because they have more important things to do thus show little interest in what goes around. All they wanna have is a golden crown ... nothing more.
A lot of people only wanna step in for the golden crown and ranks without other more meaningful goals The RuneScape Community may benefit from, important goals.
