I am a software engineer with two postgraduate degrees and more than 15 years of experience in very large companies, everything I could do was done.

Since changing my password several times, how to disconnect all access to social networks, disable all existing connections, reset the IP by CMD in all ways, give a flush, change machines, I have more than 5 computers, being they 3 windows, 1 mac and 1 linux, I tried to reset the modem, hang up, even tried on my company's internet on another internet on another modem, and even then it was unsuccessful, I tried on the mobile network using hotspot and mobile phone anchoring, on true for my two cell phones and none of that solved it.

I opened a support and I'm begging Mod Luke and Mod Frost to help me on twitter, but so far nobody can do anything, my account has more than 600 days of membership and none of these days I can use, is this my fault? Or their fault?

I am a man with a lot of experience in technology, I was a technology leader at mozilla and I have never seen anything like that, with my experience some bad people are trying to access people's accounts using node.js and handless puppeteers to scam Google 2aF it is possible and access the accounts by brute force, however the new security system attempts these various access and blocks the account, however something needs to be done, how old will my account be locked? Will I ever be able to play?

Remembering that the game Old School, there is no other way to login except by email or user with password, how do I access the beta version of old school on steam?

Anyway, I'm begging for help, for something I pay and nobody gives a damn, I honestly feel cheated by the company, it should respect its players more, or better its consumers, I want to get back from a day of my tiring work and just throw something for rest, now people who want the evil of the game and aim at greed above all harm my game and the company does nothing, will they return the days that are being lost from member? Same issue as most people in this thread.

Just adding my name to this thread to desparately try to indicate the scale of the issue to Jagex.

Same as many others in this thread: Issue affects one of my accounts, other accounts work as normal. Account is affected on regular IP address, mobile data IP address, every VPN IP address I've tried, nothing helps. OSRS mobile works on the affected account, steam login to RS3 works. Desktop official clients for RS3 and OSRS (and also RuneLite) give the "too many login attempts" error.

I have done everything on the Jagex support article, very unhelpful.

My official Jmod replies I pulled from my emails. Almost a year ago might I add.

- "It seems like this is an account specific issue, with your character being blocked periodically after we detect too many login attempts from your location.
As long as you've filled out the form on the troubleshooting page, this will aid our team in their investigations, but there's not much else we'd be able to advise at this stage aside from trying another network."

- "With this particular issue you are experiencing, there isn't anything I am able to do here and now that would fix the issue and we are aware of this happening to a small number of players."

Wow since at least 12 July 2020 this has been going on.

So being a shift worker my last log in was Thursday about 3pm CST when I logged out.

So at 10:15 am CST today I try logging in.
To my surprise
Too many log in attempts from address.

So would someone like to explain to me that when I logged out of my RS I shut my computer down....I turned my computer on and logged into my screen - yes my computer is protected.
So how at 10:15 this morning after logging onto my computer did I get too many attempts to log into my RS account when I only tried it once and BTW I had absolutely....

NO issue....

NO one has my pass information and I do not visit bad websites - I do not open email that I have no idea who it is from.

I always check IP's and run scans before visiting sites....but yet I have not a single issue logging onto the forums.

Things that make you go hhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Look a computer cannot turn itself on and log into my RS account.

Funny thing is I have no issue with my other account or any other reputiable website that I visit.
This is a Jagex Issue and Jagex you need to get to the bottom of it NOW.

NOT MY FAULT it is solely on you and your servers


Update after logging into the forums I was able to log onto my account....
My avatar is exactly where I left it in Runespan I have not checked my bank account and will be doing so shortly to ensure everything is still there.

There's not a lot else you can do in this situation Alicia, other than waiting, or trying the additional steps laid out in the dedicated support article . I would encourage to read it and report the incident, as it will help JaGex find a solution, or suggest workarounds for other players.

The teams at JaGex are certainly trying their best, but some fixes do take time. The good news is that it appears to be working for you now, and rest assured, everything should be as you left it.
