Have you tried associating your account to Gmail (Facebook or Apple), and logging-in that way?

It really is an inelegant workaround, but it works for me.

Again today I am getting to many login attempts.

I WAS ON LINE FOR 3 HOURS!!!!!!!!!! ALL I DID WAS WORLD HOP FOR SLAYER..

It logged me out and then when I tried to log back in it said "to many login attempts"

I have been having this issue, at different times, since JUNE. I have no idea what it is but I would really like Jagex to fix it. This is the 2nd time in less than a week.

I have been playing Runescape for 15 years, I've had a lot of good times. A lot of bad. But nothing worse than the confirmation from Mod Lyon that Jagex is not only aware but refuses to solve the problem. "There isn't much I can or am willing to say. Only that we're aware.". To quote the Jagex moderator he doesn't see this as a bug or critical problem. Why? Because it doesn't affect enough players. Thousands possibly more of all sorts of accomplishments are forced to allocate their playing time to when the account allows them. This of course not always being possible for many as time zones vary. This is my second rebuild because of this error, because I was pulled from the lottery to be abandoned by Jagex like all the other accounts. I have no choice but to quit today. Regardless of my contributions to Jagex, time & money. Much like many others my 15 year journey ends with Runescape here. As hard as it may be I suggest anyone who's account is severely suffering due to this do the same. Other wise Jagex will continue to ignore the minority. They will not fix this if we don't show them how many of us it really affects. Although this number I'm sure they already know...

Adding my name to the list of “too many login attempts” bug. It’s going on three days now. Only can login on mobile as I had a current session running. If I try on a different phone I get the same error as I get on any PC..... “too many login attempts”

Please fix this....

Hello everyone, I've had the same issue and I have a potential fix. I couldn't log in the game due to "too many attempts" problem and I even couldn't log in to the website where it popped like I'm using a wrong pass/username.


Potential fix: Try creating a new account instead and log in with him, after that, log out and try logging in with your old account.
