Hey Guys, I'm having this problem for the 1st time ever today and have been reading thru the forums at how many are actually affected by this. I just wanted to let you guys know that I was able to login by using my cell phone as a hotspot for my computer, the problem does appear to be IP related. I'm still having the problem when I try to login via my normal ISP, I will try to flush my IP address from my router/modem and renew it to see if it solves this issue. Hopefully my ISP doesn't just give me the same IP Back. This should work for most of us providing we end up with a new IP at the modem. Just wanted to share this with everyone and I hope it works for you! One last thing, if you keep getting the same IP back try calling your ISP technical support and request they manually assign you a different IP address, then attempt to log in once you have it. Have you tried getting a new IP address at your modem? not on your computers wifi but at the actual modem? If you can get a new IP there you should be able to connect. The only way I see it not working for you is if you are actually a victim of some type of attack like others have mentioned in their posts. Most ISP's (your cable company) cycle IP addresses anywhere from every 24 hours to every 2 weeks. If jagex has a blacklist of previously offending IP's and you are assigned one of these IP's when your cable company cycles them you will be locked out of Runescape for the term of that cycle.

I have never had this problem but this is the first time it ever happened to me. It's completely annoying and Jagex needs to fix it asap. I am not going to try to change my IP or whatever. I could take this game or leave it really if it's gonna do this.

well 5 days and still cant login!!!!!!!!!!! i am fricken pissed!!!!!!!!!! i have waited 32 hours between login attempts and still the same shit.

is there anyway to get some action done?

i have even attempted to cancel my account, and cant even figure out how to do that.

i cant even tell you how disappointed i am, i have been with this game for nearly 15 years.

does anyone out there have any suggestions for me , i dont want to quit the game. But I WILL IF IT IS JUST GOING TO CAUSE ME MORE STRESS

This is ridiculous. I'm able to log in after midnight EST, but the entire rest of of the day, I get the "Too many attempts" error on the desktop client, and the "incorrect login or password" error on the website which means I can't even comment on the forums. This has been going on for 5 straight days now. I have lost 5 days of gameplay, Jagex. Your "feature" has prevented me from playing for five straight days. I cannot believe this issue has been going on for months now, impacting your paying customers, and you don't even have the decency to do anything about it. You are robbing your players by taking their money and preventing them from using the service. That is stealing, plain and simple. You are an absolutely disgusting, unethical company that does not deserve our money anymore.

I had it yesterday and wasn't able to play for a day. I couldn't either play on my Phone and my computer. However after 12h i was able to log in on both.

This morning i wanted to log in , guess what... yep. I couldn't on my PC but i was able to log in via my phone (with the same wifi connection). I can log in with other accounts on my computer tho, so this has to be specific account related.

Anyway, I hope and do understand fixing these problems takes time.
The thing is.. Jagex has several Millions profit this year, recordbreaking online playerbase but let's be real.. the customer service is really really really bad. No sign of help, nothing.

All above, 47 pages long, we are all players who have spent a numbereous time on the game. I do think we deserve some recognision and explainment about the current problem that is affecting us bad. Holidays are coming, lockdown is still going on,... we just want to play.

I was playing just fine two days ago and when I tried to login in the morning I was hit with a message saying too many login attempts. So I went and changed everything on my account and within 10hours I was able to get my account unlocked. after I got my account to unlocked I started to play for a bit and as I was switching world I was logged off and tried to log back in again I was hit with the same message saying " too many login attempts". It is clearly to me that someone is not trying to hack me but more of a game bug or something because I am able to login the official website, I have authentication, and pin on my account. Is anyone have the same problem or is able to help? I have changed my password multiple times for precaution and even restarting my computer and deleting the client and re-downloading it.
