i am having this issue at this moment. i am nearly 60 hours from my first login attempt and still have not been able to log into my main.. nearly 3 full days of paid membership time wasted on a problem that has to have a solution in one way or another.

Like a variety of other people who are being plagued by this experience, I will go ahead and share the information that I have gathered in the long 4-5 days that I have been barred from entering my account.

One morning I awoke to an email about my account being "locked for suspicious activity", and loading up my Runescape client to see that I had a messaged stating "Too many login attempts. Please wait a few minutes before trying again."

As most people who have invested a lifetime into their accounts like I have, I immediately panicked and clicked that email in my inbox to figure out why my account was locked. This is where mistake number one happened, and I was greeted with a message from my Anti-Virus (thank Saradomin) that the link was a potential phishing link.

Immediately I closed the link, went to the official site and checked my accounts status and every button on the account section to see if my account was truly locked. Low and behold, nothing about my account being locked anywhere.

As a high priority target, a maxed player with a decent amount of wealth, I am essentially being barred from entering my account by someone who is abusing the flawed login system for Oldschool Runescape.

This is because someone is using a bot or a script to spam login attempts on my account from somewhere else. Recently a YouTube video from an ex-player moderator was created about this issue and testimony of people being locked out of their account for up to 7 weeks have surfaced (however, I have no proof that this is true).

There are two things I have discovered. You can manage to get onto your account 1 of 2 different ways, 1) if you have the 1 tap login on mobile, either Apple or Android or 2) if you have an Android device, you can link a fresh google account to your account and log onto an Android device using a Google account. You can also log into RS3 with a Google account that is linked to your account, however, nothing for OSRS

Jagex support is essentially useless for assuring their players that this issue will be fixed. They regularly send you to information that is useless and recommends you wait 25-30 minutes before attempting to login again.

There are also people who do not understand the difference between "too many login attempts" and "too many login attempts from this ip".

The issue that I, and many other people are experiencing, is not because of our internet, our ISP, or in our control at all. This is because someone who is greedy and was never taught to never touch something that isn't theirs wants your hard earned wealth and time.

There is no proposed fix or suspected date of a change, and I believe that there should be more transparency on fixing this issue. Never once in my nearly 15 years of playing this game have I ever experienced anything so discouraging or off-putting that made me want to fully give up on playing the game in its entirety.

The blame is constantly on the engine or the old infrastructure that Oldschool Runescape runs off of, however, integrating a CAPTCHA is ancient technology and exists on even the most dated systems in existence. A CAPTCHA is not a full-fledged fix, however, assuming people will patiently wait around and forgive Jagex for this issue is extremely unlikely.

I love this game and I know a lot of other people who are experiencing this issue do to. We need a fix and we need it now.

Ive been waiting on a reply from @Jagex, it's been now 3 days i can't login at all always get ''Too many login attempts. Please wait a few minutes before trying again. '' Ive delete dns cache tried on mobile with and without LTE ive used a VPN (this is something i did after it was not login in) my account isn't locked i don't know what to do. I'd like to play but that should be taken way more seriously, those ticket waiting time are crazy insane.

PS: i've switch authentification on and off to see if that would do it and switch password as well. HELP

I've had this probleme in June and it came back again...
