Thread reopened as requested on Forum Help.
Thank you ... as I said I will do my best but it will take a bit of time, that's all.
Please do not use this thread for 'any housekeeping' other than described in Forum Help or because the Code of Conduct requires regular rule maintenance.
Topics good. Threads good and the people taking part are good.
So all in all a quality thread.
I can't say yet if General Chat has changed or got any better. I have along with other F-Mods been checking daily for misplaced threads and dealing with them.
I'm not sure it's any worse though. Also not saying it's any better. It will be on the radar of the team to keep reviewing though.

No one has changed their minds. We have Guidelines what to do with misplaced threads.
Forum users can also alert F-Mods and CM Staff to a misplaced thread via the Forum Help thread. Which has been done for several threads. If reviewed the Mod checking it feels it needs moving it will be moved. If it's borderline then it will be reviewed by several F-Mods and CM staff and a call made later when time permits.
The Forums are still the same. nothing has changed other then more use of Forum Help. Which we can put down to the lockdown. More people been making use of the Forums which has been good to see. I'm sure you will also agree.
Alert moderators, regardless being FMods/LMods/JMods, all comes down to, in grey areas, to the interpretation of a post/thread and has gone bad many times unless said player follows a moderators guidelines perfectly than consensus can be reached and action be taken. If not it only will be a lot of bickering and beating around the bush ending up in a fight about 'us & them'.
Another thing, I still vividly remember the sheer "hate" some people have/had against players posting/acting as if they were moderators and the WBM-War in the past. Yes The RSOF was far more crowded/alive but also due to this war between helpful players and wanna-be-mod-haters. It was a total mess and unnecessary battle thus I am not going to "assist" moderators for that matter.
That's why, not so long ago, I did place a 'sarcastic remark about Forum Help', Forum Help being full of 'deputies'. Why should players assist moderators, elaborate with moderators about what is right & what is wrong and at the end be whacked on the nose for having a different opinion/ point of view?
Borderline remains borderline ... ask yourselves this question, isn't it sometimes very obvious that there are a lot more 'borderline-cases' than before?
