Imo the reasons the forums aren't used very much is the lack of Jmod interaction. I started using the forums when they were the only place Jmods posted and the forums were always busy.
Personally I'm happy with the way the forums work apart from not being able to work out how to post images. Yes, I've read the relevant thread on how to do it but I'm a tech noob and it doesn't make sense to me.
@Wilf,
I think you're right, I took it back to the team for a wider discussion and we decided to remove the 2 posts in question.
Pis2ols - As I mention above, 2 posts (from yourself) on page 11 have been removed since they were very pointed and very clearly (all but naming) single out a particular FMod in a very specific way. I'd recommend using Forum Moderator Review if you truly feel wrongdoing has occurred so that Mod Kari can review.
We're happy for views and opinions to be shared here, as it stands, but it would be best to raise specific instances with specific FMods to FMR as is the current process.

That's probably a big part of it but it's also a Catch-22 situation:
If people see that the forums aren't very busy, they're less inclined to use them.... and as a result the forums become even less busy =/
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about?

That's easy to say, that JMods posted more, because in that era you started to use The RuneScape Official Forums all things were invented/prepared/visualized so they needed our contacts/feedback the most. Right now, transferring everything to a new software/development level Jagex/JMods currently rely on their own skills/cooperation to get things done as soon as possible, which is an extreme complex operation.
We have still the option to use everything as if nothing is happening.

Nice to see everyones thoughts on information threads like the sticky.
I commend Jagex for their news post where they relayed all new updates/statements, i think this was a good decision, although I'd like it be posted as soon as the system registered issues.
shameless plug
As for forums, I think anyone should create a thread as they like - there's always a lot of uncertainty in the beginning, so the info can be really vague.
Also Nick the evenings are usually my prime hours too. It's so nice and quiet
What do you mean by 'shameless plug'? I do not understand what you mean.
It's not really related but thought I'd feature my other thread

Please be clear, I still fail to understand what you mean by that. What do you mean?

"Shameless plug" is common slang for an undisguised and open attempt to promote something (in this case another thread). So it basically means "clear advertisement".

imho, the RSOF nowadays is used solely for newer (/younger?), less tech-savvy players to interact with the community -- aside from those of us of course whom essentially-metaphorically had the RSOF change our diapers; which is now the majority of thus active
. Albeit the newer generation posting here, this is presumably in the hopes that they can reach out to the game-devs for feedback on their posts.. as-has always been.
As for the over-moderation on the RSOF by those volunteering their time with their appointed moderation tools, I suppose that could remain a valid argument. But as stated previously, in comparison to what it has been over a decade ago, the "rules" have become far more lax.
But what do I know.. I'm just an ordinary player
