You lost me at "analyzing the entire concept of this skill, one thing becomes very clear: Jagex have sold out"
But I kept reading anyway
"So it looks like the plan is to add a crazy gp/xp gimmick to upkeep until 200m to every skill that they will release ever since invention, because they need to create huge money sinks"
What money sinks? How is this skill a money sink? GP is going to other players.
I do agree with you the RNG aspect sucks, but I feel it's primarily for people in your situation. As someone who is just going for 120, I really like what they did with the skill so far. Someone else said it before me:

I understand that some people want to be in the top 25 or whatever, but most people just play for fun, I hope.

You can still beat them Drummy.
Don't forget to check Jagex's Scamming Prevention Guide, under Support.
Actually, make sure you read everything in the Support Centre.

Been years since Invention came out, so you've had years to prep for the new skill. There was always a risk that the new skill would cost money, so I don't think it is unfair that those 5.4bers who were sensible enough to make bank in-case the new skill required it have an advantage - nothing was stopping you grinding out GP too.
Having said that, you're a legend of the game mate, in the same bracket as people like Telmomarques, Timlahaye, Aasiwat etc. So I wouldn't worry too much if you don't make top page this time around.

Agree Drum, but you're wrong about the skill being a moneysink.
Gold is just exchanging hands, it's not going anywhere. At most the skill is a very minor item sink. The price crashes that occurred just after arch launch should revert eventually, except for cases where arch has directly made some items better/worse due to relic powers ofcourse.
