Yet why change it for the lumberjack, yet keep the sotg just were it is?

Sure the sceptre doesnt give any xp boost, but its still an rng based reward.

So how is this "improving" anything when its just changing something just because certain ppl dont like how they are obtained.

There is something extremely important which shouldn't be forgotten if it is shifted to some kind of activity related to woodcutting - it shouldn't become worse to obtain as it is right now.

TT has extremely low requirements (basically just a couple of stats in the 20s) and you can come by the outfit fairly quick (That hour isn't overestimated) - even without repeatingly aborting your treks - making lumberjack one of the most pleasant to come by skilling sets as it stands right now. Seeing your suggestions of

- Croesus (an high-end skilling boss, which also will have an RNG component, unless you're literally receiving one piece free of charge for every single kill)
- Overgrown Idols (a lock behind level 81 woodcutting, which literally is an higher requirement that receiving pieces for your elite outfit with some potential RNG component, unless you're receiving one piece free of charge...)
- Evil trees (potentially extreme quest lock requirements and/or high woodcutting, firemaking and potentially even farming levels unless you're ready to search for low levelled trees in widely accessible areas - not to forget that potential RNG component, unless...)

will make it outright worse for every single player , with the exception of that one pure, that shudders at the literal thought of that limited amount of combat required to be able to access TT.

I mean I really can get behind those things being rewarded by an activity related to said skill - but why should those proposals be literally worse than status quo? I mean sure - we do not have too much of choice when it comes to non-regular woodcutting content - but the only way I can see your proposal as enriching would be adding those sets additionally to one or more of those activities - not as an replacement. That is perfectly possible, since the master runecrafter robes are available in three ingame sources (+vic)

The inconsistency in how skilling outfits are obtained is a shame, and many don't work well with other outfits. For example, Morytania legs don't work with master runecrafter robes for blood runes (or vice versa). They do work with the elite rc outfit, but then that one doesn't work with gloves from Fist of Guthix. Streamlining all those things would be great.

Other than that, as others have said:

- lower the price of master rc somewhat; 10k or 12k tokens per piece rather than 15k.
- Black Ibis is ridiculous; massively increase the odds of finding pieces. You should have the full set after several hours of playing Pyramid Plunder at med to high levels.
- for Saradomin's sake get rid of Vic.

I don't like how elite outfits are obtained at all. It's time-locked and hardly involves the actual skill. The best way to get the woodcutting outfit is to click an oak every five minutes...

Not only is Croseus higher level but skilling or not, a boss is still a boss with all the hellishly long and unpredictable loot RNG that entails. Plus I already made a point that skilling outfit pieces shouldn't be treated like boss loot. That's way too inaccessible.

Evil Trees you can run into frequently enough to be feasible since it's pretty frequent throughout the day but probably not ideal. About on the level of Familiarisation except the hint to find the right obelisk isn't quest locked.

It doesn't necessarily have to be an existing activity since my original suggestion mentioned reworking existing or new skill guilds they could be moved to. For Lumberjack, reworking the sawmill to have multi-level uses instead of just its current high level one could make it into a woodcutting or combination woodcutting and construction guild with suitable utilities. For Black Ibis, the thieving guild already has a shop it can be added to but you'd need lvl 60 to get it there. Doing something with hanky points would make it more accessible from a lower level.

I agree about streamlining interaction between skilling items that occupy the same equipment slot. There should probably be some way for players to easily check their effects and interactions too.

Resetting TT for the outfit isn't really a fix since it's not actually engaging with the content as intended. It also doesn't work if you're actually trying to do the content for achievements, which I was. I've gotten too fed up with the RNG to bother continuing just for that when I'm already 99 WC and not in a hurry for 120 or max XP. It's not worth the effort and there's other content I'm more interested in doing. If I go back it'll be for one of the rewards rather than outfit pieces.

About Elemental Workshop, I think it could be reworked to remove the need to interact with the puzzles post quest and make the armours more accessible to make. The rework could add more lore and also integrate it into RCing for more use.

Mel, I think you misunderstood me. Then again, given the way I explain things, it's pretty easy for people to not understand me half the time, which is pretty normal for me. (Clearly you misunderstood my efforts to confuse you.)

What I was suggesting was that it be added to ALL of these as a method for getting the outfit pieces. Hence why I was listing most of the Woodcutting activities.
Croessus and Evil Trees would have a higher probability than doing Overgrown Idols. It would allow a means besides the RNG aspect. (Technically could leave it as a drop from undead lumberjacks for those that want the traditionalist apporach)

Heck, have it so Croessus can drop pieces of the Fisherman, Lumberjack and Golden Mining Outfits along with chunks of skilling fragments for all 4 elite outfit sets.

As for why I was so fixated on Lumberjack was because it was one of the more obvious problems with lots of indirect solutions to the problem.

Hence the whole:
"Earning Skilling outfits need to be fixed"
"Here are some possible solutions that don't 100% rely on pure RNG"

Guess I should revisit the "how to get them"
NOTE: ALL SUGGESTIONS TO BE IMPLEMENTED DEPENDING ON DEV DECISION

Constructor
- keep it as a reward from temple trekking
- add ability to buy pieces from Construction Contracts

Lumberjack
- retain ability to get from undead lumberjacks in temple trekkings
- as a possible drop from skilling bosses, Evil Trees at 100% (higher the tree, the better the chance) and from looting Overgrown Idols

Black Ibis Outfit
- retain earning from PP. Chance of earning improved
- possible to buy for Pilfer Points and Flash Powder Reward Shop
- possible reward from looting Shifting Tombs

Nimble Outfit
- retain getting from The Drop
- add to Flash Powder Reward Shop, Brimhaven Agility Arena for Tickets,

Golden Mining Outfit
- retain Lava Flow Mine
- add as possible drop from Mining Skilling Bosses (Croessus currently) and rare chance from Star Sprites
- something you can find in Nemi forest

Farmer's Outfit
- retain Cabbage Facepunch
- add as a reward to buy from Winkin's Farm and from Player Owned Farms
- Something you can find while in Nemi Forest

Crafting Outfit
- retain Stealing Creation
- add as a possible reward from Shifting Tombs and looting chests in Shades of Morton

Divination Outfit
- retain Guthixian Caches
- add as possible reward drop from Shifting Tombs

First Age Outfit
- retain for Ecto-tokens
- add as possible reward from Shades of Morton, Columbarium or any method of cremating Vyres, Nemi Forest

Universal
- Gold Sink letting players buy them for GP from the respective cape seller

Cooking and Fletching are somewhat problematic with the current options in game.
Simply few options apply to them without adding something (which would make sense for guild currencies as some folks suggest, giving options for Crafting as well)

Fletching D&D
The NPC that sells the Fletching Skillcape is trying to make recurve and compound bows for special clients (sorry, not you)
The cape seller will give you the chance to help them make them, just so long as you bring special materials or whatever he asks for (to act as an item sink).
Mechanics of making it up to the devs. Could also just do a rehash of ceremonial swords for all i know or just go with something simple.

Player gets awarded XP depending on the frequency of the D&D (caches? daily? weekly?)

Player also gets the chance to earn the Fletching Skilling Outfit Pieces from it.

Actually sounds good. I mean of course a lot of alternatives won't probably be super viable for reasons similiar to the ones I brought up for woodcutting, but at least you wouldn't need to bypass activites you just can't stand with vic. And nobody loses anything now.

I would add a couple of things:

Master Runecrafter

Drastically reduce the price from TGOP - the full set shouldn't cost more than 10k tokens in total. Of course TGOP itself might also be in need of being reworked in some fashion, but it at least would be sorta viable to get the set this route - since this was the major issue with that thing in the first place.

Black Ibis

- Remove the level requirement to obtain the set in the first place in PP. You can enter the activity from level 21 onwards, so the set should be obtainable from level 21 onwards. If you can get it from vic at level 1, you shouldn't have to wait up to fricking level 78 to get it via PP...
- Add a scaling chance to obtain set pieces - higher rooms, better odds to get a piece. While Room 1 literally would start out, as it is right now, Room 8 could have a chance of 1/100 per urn - and even more if using luck and the sceptre of the gods.

Hunter

- Needs desperately an alternative due to its lock behind level 90+ content. It might be worth adding the set to BGH - both as a random drop, as well as being able to buy pieces with hunter marks. Maybe consider it making it obtainable via big chinchompa.

General

Of course - considering something globally - add a very low chance to obtain set pieces while doing general purpose skilling. Everything that could award a skill pet, could also award a set piece randomly. This shouldn't be the most viable way - but you'd naturally would be able to obtain the set over the course of 99 levels (unless you're solely doing stuff which also couldn't award skilling pets of course).
