That is what I have been believing. Too many people have the assumption it will start its rise once it officially becomes discontinued. Just like with what happens in the stock market, when a large portion of people assume a rise or drop will happen, it does the opposite. For example, when a lot of the major stocks have great earnings expectations and people start buying on the rise, it drops upon great earning news instead of rises. Too many people have the same idea that the golden phat will rise after it is discontinued. Be careful because it may drop instead of rise.

Looks like my assumption was right.

That's because everyone was buying from the hype that it was about to be discontinued. Now that it is discontinued the hype is over for now. Now it's the waiting game for people for more new players to join, as well as people that have them to start taking long breaks for them to slowly disappear. There is no doubt it is going to be valuable someday, just might be a while.

Yes, they will be valuable some day but I feel it will take a few years before that happens. The patient people are going to be rewarded very well who hold on long term (5+ years) before they sell their stashes.

I do not want to hear people say "runescape will die before then". People have been saying that since like 2009 lol.

yeah gotta shake off the people who spent all their available patience and self control on holding their gphats until the event ended in the hopes that they would skyrocket immediately

gphat is a multi-year long investment, plenty of other ways to make money in the game besides weak handing a discontinued rare instantly lol

To many people have bought around these prices and that makes the current price not an attractive price for the bigger investors. There are to many people on the train. At least that is how i see it.

True but I would just like to mention that some people who had 100+ already dumped them and price isn't too horrible considering that. This is long term investment, can't expect anything short term. That's why it's funny when people mention fast rise or over max cash until end of January.
The action or process of causing so much damage to something that it no longer exists or cannot be repaired.

Strong hand hoarders will buy ni slowly as low as they can. One day… they’ll have most, and the price rockets up. But then they sell: rinse, repeat.

Maybe it’s not that impressive, but I enjoy seeing a market work. The GE makes an excellent market, the fun of rs. I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity. :(

Feels like we've already seen the bottom...

I'm surprised by how many people in w2 aren't wearing any rare, GPH included. I wonder how many people still have the one they made (or didn't make one for that matter, hard to imagine though.)
