Found near the archaeology area. All wearing the same clothes , they proceeded to tele together.

Are these all alts. I guess they are cashing in on the golden party hat???

What a strange phenomenon.

Thousands entered the game like this as we speak. It's not hard to do it and you can start with fresh account with all 1 stats.
The action or process of causing so much damage to something that it no longer exists or cannot be repaired.

I disagree with you. The golden partyhat is a special rare, it's for the 20 years anniversary. I don't think Jagex will release another party-hat EVER again, and that's why it makes it so special.

I understand that rares are popular, but if they wanted to make re-colors of the party-hats they would have done it years ago.

New rares are always popular, so they don't actually have to re-release old rares as recolours, anything rare would be just as popular (See black Santa, Wreath, and Scythe) back then, the event was just as fun, and I really enjoyed it.

I managed to buy 100 xmas scythes when 5k got released (When they were 37m each) and I still have some left. Rares are always fun and a great investment, especially the new ones :)

From what I could see, majority of these alts are not bots which is great. Some actually answer you lol and they are nice lol. Nothing against a person who runs 5-6 accounts at time for example, not against rules.

I am surprised it is sustaining the stable price that it is. There are a lot in game but what I believe is keeping it from crashing is so many people are not selling. A lot of people are getting their one golden phat and keeping it forever and/or farming them and holding onto them for awhile. Everyone knows what will happen to the price of a discontinued item in todays time. Not many people realized this back with the original partyhats and other rares. Everyone knows to hold onto the golden phat for several years because it will go up in price.

They do look good in my opinion, which helps. I personally will never sell the one I hunted. I think it is scary how many will be in game but are not in circulation. If something ever causes a mass of people to sell, it will be bad. They are obviously a good long term investment.

Its holding up surprisingly well,though 500m isnt much if you compare it with scythe which has 5k ingame or santa which maybe has 10k active ingame.

With hoarding there is also a thing where you somehow get commited and where it becomes psychologically difficult to stop hoarding. I have noticed this with myself at least with several items in the past.

Like people start hoard at 400-500m. Price goes up a bit and some are maybe sold.
Price goes back to 400-500 and people stock up more. And as long as the price doesnt go lower,people keep stocking up.

And the price wont go lower. Because people are stocking up...a sort of self fullfilling market prophecy.

Untill at one point the price breaks and then you suddenly get another big drop where the price goes way lower.
Or the price holds till the event is over and everyone is happy. People sell hats but attempt to rebuy. This then makes the bottom where people started hoarding a more or less hard floor that most likely wont break again,leading to an initially very slow increase in the price.

I dunno,its still a long way to go with the event so lots of things could happen.
Its a nice item to be fair,even though the gold color doesnt really fit with the other partyhats which are all normal colors. I will definitely keep the one i have,and if it drops more i might buy some as a long term merch.

Maybe silver partyhat in the future? would probably look pretty good.

I believe that the Golden Partyhat is the best rare to enter the game, its not of what it is but how you can get it, collecting shards gives everyone an opportunity to get one, but only to those who consistently play the game. The fact is, that you need to collect 8 shards just to get one and you can only get one per account, so you cant farm them like other rares when they come out. So if you can create alt accounts, that means you will consistently have to play on each one for the 6 weeks until you get one, and then repeat the process, and then you sell it anyways, so those accounts even though they get it but they dont really keep it, so circulation becomes lower because of all the hoarders who sell only when its not possible to sell on ge anymore. Compared to the original partyhats 10+ years ago they respawned on the ground like bones in everyday life of runescape. so who's to say how many are there in circulation. The point is that Golden Partyhat will become worth more than you can imagine, because owning one is a status in RS3, and wearing a gold crown on your head shows people what you have accomplished. Plus there is an easy way to hoard it if you are buying them all, just do clues, get dyes, sell dyes, buy golden partyhat, rinse and repeat, until you have them all. Also someone has bought a blue partyhat for 123b a month ago, thats like 246 Golden Partyhats, and if they go up to 1b each that person would have doubled their money buy then. You never know what the future holds just have to wait for it. Happy Scaping.

It rarely takes me 4 hrs on 1 skill to earn the shard. It's less then 3 hrs average on my accounts, but I was being generous for some bad luckers out there.

Agree not touching these hats with a 10 foot pole. Don't want to wait 15 years for a 10% profit.
