what i like what i hate about these damm hats,,,
simple i love the fact i have a paper hat,, dont really care about what its worth, just sick of seeing those that have other colors and i did not .....now i have one ,,, i am content,
what i freaken hate is the look the hat has on this forum its freaken ugly.
it saddens me that jagex forum people doesnt care enough to fix the damm graphics
it looks like a fast food workers hat,,
I'll tell you hwhaaaattt
the partyhat needs a more glossy finish, it needs to shine! needs to be brighter! it needs to glow!
No one who invested a lot in these for a long term is selling them now, please use your brain. I can't believe you're still here trying to convince players that these hats are going to be worthless, like, give it up?
Also, no one bought them at 700m+ to invest, everyone waited until low end to purchase bulk, so there isn't even any major losses because most bought at 300m mark, and it's currently at 280m and stable... so what exactly is you'r point?
At no point in my entire time on this thread did I state these hats will be worthless forever. Every discontinued item eventually gains value, just look at the Fish Mask. I simply stated that people (including you) were giving terrible investment advice to the average player.
You were telling average players to hold onto and even buy more hats at the 700m mark.
I was telling them to sell and buy back at a much lower price.
Speaking strictly based on the fact that these hats have not once risen back to their 700m mark, let alone above it, since that time, no honest, thinking human being could possibly conclude that I was incorrect in my assessment of the short-mid term value of these items.
Not once did I ever say that players shouldn't buy these up at low prices and hold onto them for the long term; in fact, I stated they should do EXACTLY that on several occasions! And despite this, you fought against me. Yet now, you claim that your stance this entire time has been to buy low and hold. If this has been your stance the whole time, then why did you ever even argue with me when I said to sell high and buy back low? That would literally be your own stance at the time if what you claim is true. How nice how we realize that, despite calling me an idiot for wanting to buy hats at a lower price, we now know that was all one big misunderstanding and that we had the same plan this whole time. If you want to go through all the struggle for 12m/hr atm then go ahead lol
Don't think anyone will attempt to "farm" it when it's so cheap
Me and my friends are earning about 1 Phat a day each on alts. It's very simple and afk. Aslong as the price stays up, we are making 30m+ per hr. I don't see the prices staying at 450m for long though
I am sure there's merchers hoarding on avrg 50+ hats daily, the GE limit is set to 2 every 4 hours, so beginning early seems to be a good idea - I don't think anyone want's to start buying when the event ends and they skyrocket xD
Let's look at it like this: There's a better chance that they rise to 600m, than dropping to 200m. The choice is yours
I don't think the 30 hats you collect will make any difference, that's only 12b - And making a hat is over 24 hrs btw (over a day)
This little gem seems to plainly contradict your supposed "clarification" of your stance.
No one wants to hoard AFTER the event? So you're saying everyone who knows what they're doing is, and wants to be, hoarding during the event; hoarding before they bottomed out. Telling players who plan to sell their hats that they have a better chance of going up than going down. How is anyone supposed to interpret these words that YOU said as anything other than telling players:
"Buy now! Don't wait! They're more likely to go up than go down! You don't want to wait until the end of the event because that's when they're gonna skyrocket!"
Again, I pity the players who trusted you. For the billionaire+ players out there, This probably wouldn't hurt them too much. But a lot of average players probably lost a lot on these words. They have to hold onto this item for years to see any return. Cash they could have invested in their account to make more money in that time from PvE.

It doesn't matter if it's a party hat when it's so common, let's be real, if the iconic party hats weren't so expensive do you really think players would want them? Is the design really that appealing? I wouldn't say so.
I personally don't think that they will be near the 100m mark, but let's wait and see.
@Mellmyster
I consider it a fake party hat, it's created in the image of the old original hats, a bad copy. It will have new textures, and look like a 2021 item.
If you think it's just a recolour of the iconic party hats, then you're wrong. Jagex would not do that. It will have a slightly new design, just like the Black Santa Hat.
It's very easy to call people wrong when you regularly and plainly ignore the times you are.
Crazy how you went from "These are fake p hats" and "this won't be iconic" to "This is a special and iconic rare." over the course of this thread. What suddenly made it iconic and not fake? I'm curious.

It looks like you guys have too much hope for these fake hats.
It will be so common, that I don't even think that it will hit the 10m mark. It will be considered junk, and that's my honest opinion.
The supply, which will be over 25k+ is just a lot.
I do think that players will start stocking up on them, because let's look at the history of rares... they all increase in price, but I think it will take at least 15 years to see an increase in price for the Golden hat, and even then, it might only hit a 100m mark
Personally I wouldn't want to be stuck with any Green Santa Hats because I'm 100% sure that they will re-release them again next year,
and, everyone is like "I'll just sell before next xmas!" which everyone else will do, so players will probably start selling months before, so in conclusion, it's a very unstable item
Gold Phat is very safe as you mentioned, in just a few days it will become 100% discontinued, and I'll rather keep these, even tho there's probably over 20k+ of them in-game, they will become in-active very fast, and that's when we will see price increases
Crazy how a number north of 20k went from "worthless, not even hitting 10m" to "A very safe investment" by virtue of... you saying so?
Please, I beg of you; teach me your ways of logical consistency. I'd love to have this power to simply declare that, while last month a large peperoni pizza was too many calories for 1 human in 1 sitting, today, simply because I've decided that it's so, it's a perfectly healthy number. You must teach me this power.

Can anyone find me another rare item
stated to be discontinued by jagex
under 400m?
I rest my case.
Thank you.
Well it is also the most common actually confirmed discontinued item and probs the ugliest of the wearable ones so
I like them. Who knows their value?
I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity.

As were all other rares at their release.
That's true but i'd say unless there's a sink of gphats or we get a lot of newer players and the shift kinda changes from an heavy end game player base to a new player base you are probably better off investing in the original ones, at least ratio wise.
A lot can happen though, so who knows
