See my above post. It's easier to just implement an upgrade/enhancement system rather than increase the skill-cap, and it's easier for everyone to obtain/achieve since not everyone has literally hundreds of hours to grind to 120.

It would apply to all weapons/armor and could be fun to play with as for the aesthetics when you achieve higher enhancements.

Many other games use that type of system and it works well.

This is not possible at all. Infinity does not exist for computers and any calculator in general. Anyway...

The game uses 32-bit integers, so the exp is capped at 214,748,364.8 (they rounded it down to 200m to have a nice number).

To raise the cap, they would need to use 64-bit integers, resulting in exp capped at 922,337,203,685,477,580.7, but they said it's too complicated to do so, since their tools don't seem to support 64-bit and it would lead to bugs and rollbacks.

That's why they've suggested a prestige system, which the playerbase refused. But I guess that sooner or later it will be necessary.

It's possible to reach a virtual level of 126.56535 in a skill currently, at 200m exp.
