I honestly wouldn't mind the skills being bumped to 120, preferable after it being polled to the community.

It would allow more content, armour, weapons, quests, etc! More than likely a complete rebalancing would need to be done though so I can't see it happening any time in the near future. It would be rather exciting though! Especially for people who are already maxed. It would give them something else to work towards.

It is just a matter of time as the Community is more and more accepting for the level 100-120 Content. New Game Content constantly buffs the best Exp Rates, and (even presently) getting a 99 would be getting to level 75 or so, in the past years. It is no longer a big deal.

Give it 2 years or so and you will see this discussion being taken much more seriously on Jagex's end.

I personally would love to see the Exp Cap raised from 200m to 500m, along with the Level 100-120 Content added, of course.

I would love to see no cap on xp tbh.

Ty for your post.

Also, for those worried about Combat being too overpowered at 120; Jagex can re-balance how levels contribute towards your Damage output, and make it so Level 120 would hit as much as a current 99 :) . Though, I'm not sure if you would like that after you spend a considerable time leveling it up from 99?

I saw a post regarding Runecraft as an example of how it is difficult to add new content for certain skills. Well, it is certainly difficult, and can be very difficult. Think of it as adding a new, half of a game to the current game. That surely would require a considerable amount of new ideas, which many will also need to be connected with other skills ideas.

I am not sure how hard it has to be to add the new content. How hard was Elf City or Divination to add? I consider both of those additions great.

The only thing that worries me, if they did it is them doing it wrong and creating gated content. They should not raise exp rates while raising the caps. Otherwise we might be facing 3x exp, 130 caps the next year, 5x exp, 140 caps the next and so on.

I think one of the things that makes RS good is that it's stable, it's like your go to game. You can take a break, sit a year out and when you come back, you come back to a maxed or high level character instead of having to see your character reduced back to a newbie and having to grind all the skills, money etc. again.

It is always a concern how good the new content will be. With the recent addition of Divination an Elf City, it gives me hope though.

That would require a massive rework to nearly all of combat as all current levels of combat would hit less. Think about the effect on PvM, bosses will suddenly need higher stats to cope with them while the weapons and armor they drop (being a large chunk of a player's damage/damage mitigation) would become weaker as part of reducing the damage output of combat levels so that 120 = current 99).

Finally, nerfing all of combat still results in 120 being overpowered by comparison.

It might be a massive rework to update combat or maybe someone will come up with a great idea that would make it little easier. Either way, if it is good for the game Mod MMG never shied away from huge projects and hopefully Pips won't either.

I think, and actually hope, that there are not comming any level 110 weapons or level 120 in skills. because if you look at a Noxious Scythe, Bow or Staff, it is already OP and it's great to have some OP weapons, but just let's not make it to OP.

Of course, this is my opinion, I just wanted to share it with the community :)

Kind Regards,

One idea for dealing with 120 combat stats and associated content could be that weapon damage stops scaling after Level 99. So rather than weapons above level 99 having massively increased damage, they could gain various effects or special attacks; things to make them more desirable than lower levelled, more mundane weapons, but to prevent them from being massively overpowered against existing content.

For example, you could have a level 110 weapon with a vamp**ic effect but with the stats of a level 99 weapon. So while it'd be no stronger than a mundane level 99 weapon, it would be desirable for its healing.

Just a thought anyway

Or we could just have an upgrade system.

Upgrade-----state change-----% Difference
+0---------------100%-------------0%
+1---------------103%-------------3%
+2---------------106%-------------3%
+3---------------109%-------------3%

+4---------------116%-------------7%
+5---------------123%-------------7%
+6---------------130%-------------7%
+7---------------145%-------------15%
+8---------------160%-------------15%
+9---------------175%-------------15%

+10--------------215%-------------40%
+11--------------255%-------------40%

Chance of Successful Enhancement

+0 > +1 - 100%
+1 > +2 - 100%
+2 > +3 - 95%
+3 > +4 - 57%

+4 > +5 - 30%
+5 > +6 - 16.50%
+6 > +7 - 12.18%
+7 > +8 - 7.50%
+8 > +9 - 3.46%

+9 > +10 - 1.33%
+10 > +11 - 0.99%

A lot of other games use an upgrade/enhancement system and it helps with the "end game gear" issue. There are a few other factors to it, but I'll just leave the general idea/breakdown here.

My top three reasons why this should not happen, taken if gone as uncoordinated as when evolution update turned a portion of playerbase around.

1) With so much balancing having gone towards the current state of combat in the game since release of evolution which to me feels like finished now, I foresee these increase to 120 would make it a total mess of the game again , I dont want this game feel like a beta for the foreseeable future with more endless attempts for more rebalancing, a total waste of Jagex resources.

2) I dont fear that combat stats of 120 to be overpowered (because they will be), but if they were to be balanced to be as powerful as current 99 stats are and see current 99 stats nerfed for its sake, is same as just dragging skills out to 120 just for the sake of it and again is but more resources wasted, like putting out content and predenting it to be new while being all just arbitrary from a sane players perspective.

3) All the planned future projects for this game, such as new quests, bosses and what not else they have on the pipeline will most likely be delayed more from the game in an undesirable way or form due to Jagex resources not being unlimited, sounds to me like a chain reaction you would want to avoid.
