Just read through this entire thread and it's essentially what i just said.

Most people believe if Jagex raised the max cap to 120, people would either quit or think it's too hard.

Majority of this game's player base are noobs. Now i don't mean that in an elitist offensive manner but it's a true fact. Most people are ignorant and unaware of actually how Easy it is to get experience.

Here's an example. Using FM brawling gloves with Bexp with Elder Logs.

(435)x4=1740. (1740)x2= 3480. (3480)x(1200)= 4,176,000.

Yeh that's 4.2m Firemaking experience in just a bit over an hour. That's 1/3rd of 99 done in 3-4 hours. Now this isn't the case with every skill but this is just to give you an example that some skills are quite fast if you have the appropriate knowledge and items. Knowing this, some people still think 120 capes are beyond reach and crazy ?

99's are hard enough. All you maxed people are crazy. ;_; 119-120 would be like 2 months straight of fletching due to exponential xp requirements, I might just commit hari-kari, even if it is a quest requirement.

hard to get gloves with a resource that's predominantly available through microtransactions. Not a good example unless you're already rich and maxed in most other skills.
Headcanon Haven, where everything is made up and the points don't matter.

There's 3 ways of getting brawling gloves and all three methods do not involve microtransactions at all.

1) - Drop Revs/Chaos Elemental
2) - Rare Drop Table
3) - Pickpocketing Elves

As for Bonus experience, There's minigames such as SC/Heist/Barbarian Assault that gives you between 400-800k Bonus experience an hour.

Everything i've mentioned with my example, any ordinary player can do without spending a dime.

This is the primary issue with most people is that they simply don't know better.

Great example with Fm and I agree no micro transactions involved at all. Ty for your posts.

Well if you look at the combat skills, I feel as though the game would become way unbalanced if they were made to go up to 120. Think about the major difference in how high your hits would be. I can see non-combat skills going up to 120 at some point, but if the combat skills were to go up to 120 you would have to either not scale their combat in accordance over level 99, or entirely rebalance the game.

Well, honestly, combat skills barely affect your ability to fight so that wouldn't even be noticeable. You can buff your skills above 120 as is. Its still all about the weapon you use, not the skill. Most players wouldnt even use overloads if it werent for that hidden damage boost and that it restores stats making using Sara brews less of a hassle.

I think 120 is quite a big ask for majority of the players.

Those maxed and bored maybe do iron man mode/ hard core iron man mode or just restart a new account?

It's not asking people to get 120. Raising the limit to 120 is simply rewarding players who have gone above and beyond. It also gives Jagex room for for additional content for the future.

There is no reason to do IronMan from my own perspective. People are only interested in doing that because it set up a new highscore from scratch so that's people's chance to get ranked high without doing as much work as the normal highscores. Most people i know play Ironman as a side thing while their main does something AFK. I doubt the amount of IronMan players being actual new players are high.

People only need to get few hundred k experience to advance quite high. For Maxed players, the only way i'm going to advance in overall rank is if i get 3-5m Experience daily, otherwise i'm either staying put or losing rank.
