No,no and no.
A lot of players wish to have 2574 total lvl(excluding 120 dg) and have that much lovely desired max cape. They work hard to achieve 99 in each skill,13m xp is a lot also, takes lots of time to gain.
So,what do u offer now..U want max total lvl of 3120(26x120) to be in rs?What the...
Im not even surprised if u want max cape (99 in all skills) improve/increase to 120..
I cant imagine myself gettin 120 agi and such boring,slow-training skills..

I see no reason why they would change the max requirements beyond lvl 99 just because skill would be increased to 120. There would just be additional rewards for players wishing to exceed 13 mil xp or lvl 99.

No penalties just additional rewards :)

I agree that things are very easy right now but raising the level cap to 120 wont make it harder. If they were to raise the cap, there would be more & more promotions. I doubt people would really wanna go for all 120's. Getting to 99 in some skills were a hassle for a lot of people, picture what getting 120 would feel like.

They'd probably do the same thing they did with 99's. People grind out those levels .. then BOOM; much more bonus xp. Then what? They gonna raise the levels to 150 & repeat? It's not that it'll take them long to rework the skills ... it's just that not a lot of people would support it & they wont make a lot of money from it.

Prime Example: They told people it wouldn't be possible to have 2 combat systems in the live game. They lost a ton of players; "Hey guys! we're happy to introduce Legacy mode! Play the game how you want to play it!"

They're tired of losing players. DG lost a nice amount of players, EoC lost a TON of players, picture what this will do. Until they remove a lot of the bonus xp & make warbands much harder ... skills will continue to feel easy. They made the game pay 2 win.

-Buy bonds & sell them ingame for GP.
-Buy TH keys & get a bunch of bonus xp/xp lamps
-Buy TH keys & get skilling outfits

They could make good money from Solomons alone. They keep saying "Power to the Players" - the players are saying remove Treasure Hunter. They aren't listening & that's what is killing the game. I really don't see this game living past 2016 at the rate things are going. It just seems like they're getting as much money as they can. And it takes them a crazy long time to release content. Some of the updates they release now would be considered patches back in the day.

Ok done with my rant lol. But no; lv 120 cap wouldn't help anything .. would more than likely make things worse.

Also I think it'll take the feeling of accomplishment away from the 120 capes. People go for them because they want to. Once everyone feels that they HAVE to get the cape... not gonna be really prestigious anymore because the capes will be more common.

Oh no! 1% of RuneScape players are maxed! What ever will we do?

Seriously though, 12k sounds like a lot until you consider the number of accounts on RuneScape. There are at least 1.7m active accounts on RuneScape (based on the highscores), 1.7m divided by 12k is roughly 0.007%. So that pathetic 1% is a large overestimation.
And that doesn't include maxed players who quit and new accounts that have yet to reach the high scores.

I already see Jagex implementing 120 skills in the future. Probably not anytime soon but given a few years, i see it happening. 120 capes are the new 99s essentially.

The main challenge is how they would implement combat skills to go above 99. Jagex would need to completely rework every Monster ingame to reflect the change along with doing alot of testing on weapons/etc. The non-combat skills themselves will be easy to implement.

The only thing standing in the way is as most are aware. The majority of RS players are noobs and will just cry "elitism."

No support for the moment. The reason why I say this is because Jagex doesn't have current content balanced properly yet. Furthermore, even with xp promotions and the like it still takes the average player a long time to achieve high levels. Besides, a game should not be so focused on the grind. I understand that Runescape is all about the grind, but that should not take away from other aspects of the game.

I may not have stats that qualify me for "high lvl" status, but at least I can see that there are problems that must be addressed now. I do not want Jagex to release content for anything past level 99 until they resolve outstanding issues.

So much content is underutilized and quite a few stats aren't very useful. So what if you have 99 in smithing? You can't produce high grade equipment. You can only fix degrading stuff better and more cheaply than someone without 99. Got 99 divination? Big deal. That skill is on its own and does not contribute much to the game's experience right now. I could have level 1 divination and still get away with playing through a lot of RS content.

Honestly, I would support your thread if skill reworks, content re-balancing, and upgrades to the game engine already came out. Then I would consider expanding beyond 99.

It's only elitism if people think and act like they are better than others because they have 120 in a skill. The only difference between a lvl 1, a lvl 99, and a lvl 120 is time and willingness to sit through hours upon hours of skilling.
