In other words, giving something meant to reward achievement BiS stats is good for neither achievement hunters nor those who are interested in the stats.

There is some fucked up logic.
Now what's an unfun environment when you talk to people and see nonsense being said and stuff like that

Yes but sadly it seems beyond Jagex capabilities to do a quick simple fix to comp cape without destroying the game, so they need to shelve it until they can get some new mods who are more capable and don't spend a week banging on about max and quest capes.

Maybe because the entire system needs a rework from scratch, which a quick and simple fix can't do.

No it doesn't.

They haven't done a decent update since the gower quest and that was the first one for years.

Yes it does, read the dev blog.

*shrug* That's your opinion.

Some missing mqc requirements that should be added with this update to tier 2 or 3 quest/lore. For minigame, misc and skills, see thread in signature.

- Free Velrak the explorer after Heroes' Quest.
- Claim and use Lloyd's Cooking lamp for making all cheesecakes.
- Obtain a phoenix pet and speak to the Phoenix about her brother.
- Find and read a book on the history of the Kinshra.
- Find Philippe in each location he can appear.
- Purchase Jessika's sword from the Void Knights after The Void Stares Back. (debatable)
- Obtain the five ultra-rare miscellaneous Daemonheim journals. (would require luck mitigation first)
- Claim the big rock from Barendir.
- Speak to Wizard Elriss about her research.
- Read the wise old man's three books.

Will post if I come up with more.

I suppose also to read all unobtainable books that can't be moved, such as:

- Read the soul vampyre research on Goshima.
- Read The Queen and the King in Yeti Town (even though it's a massive lorefail).
- Read the Declaration of Viggora.
- Read Brian Twitcher's book on the Phoenix. (would replace completing the Phoenix Lair once; there's also the more difficult achievement of getting the pet, which unlocks some story, see above)

Oh, and

- Read every book in the Grand Library of Menaphos.
- Purchase and read the arena book from the Mage Training Arena. (has a history section)
- Read the diaries of Archibald Paldock, Sandy, and Roddeck, as well as the latter's manual on dragon raising.
- Read the Virtus book.
- Read the books from Lletya.
- Read the dusty scroll from Burgh de Rott.
- Read Lord Rologarth's letter to his brother. (this item is currently forever lost if dropped)
- Unlock all fairy rings.

- Break the counter in the body room during or after elemental workshop III
- Tell Gwir about all your exploits after Plagues' End
- Tell Derni, Dernu and Miodvetnir about all your exploits after King of the Dwarves
- Tell Ali the Barman about the poisoned drink after The Feud

Unsure if the strange orb trading sequence should be used. But on the other hand the TzHaar-Ga'al-Kot miniquest was included as well - despite being a fairly well hidden secret.

That would be missing quest/lore stuff I got compiled.

As for commentary:

- Unobtainable books could be made obtainable in a physical form for collecting them for the bookcase.
- I don't really think that Jessica's sword should be included in lore. That would bascially once more be this Livid farm thing, that a minigame reward locked behind a quest has to be obtained for the MQC.
- Daemonheim journals 16-20 simply should be changed to 1:1000 drops like every other monster dropped book in daemonheim. Perfect juju potions and dungeoneering master capes still would boost the chance further. As they stand it was absolutely correct to exclude them from MQC, albeit a fix would've been the better solution.
- Philippe may be an oversight, since there is an achievement to find him at every location up to Piscatorious. So the cheevo should be updated in this aspect.
- Likewise the old diary should be included in 'Lovingly Crafted', since it features some horror lore. Make it addable to the bookcase.
Improvements: Tooltip / (F2P) QoL v2
Quick Fixes: Invention

Sharp, Rikornak, thanks. Also maybe unlocking all of Zanik's adventures after Nomad's Elegy? Probably not possible for everyone, though, right?

Could be doable with papyrus and charcoal. But this would require extra development time, which would be better spent on adding new miscellaneous and minigames achievements (currently the capes aren't justifiable, we need at least 100-200 more minigame ones). Same for Virtus book.

Lets make this simple as possible, if i hear about reworking the max cape, master quest cape and the most important of the all the comp and trimmed comp cape am quitting for good and I am sure a lot more people will quit the game. I have been playing RS for over 10 years and i notice that the goal for rs is to destroy the very game you guys create. every complain leads to a big rework, new players complain jadgex start talking shit where is the loyalty for the veteran. we should leave comp and every other cape alone and focus on more important matter for example how to fix logs in the game and how to make the game better and not destroy the fucking game that i love so much. This the question am asking jadgex if the game was so broken that everything need to be fix why after every fix people are leave the game for good? something is wrong with that and it not the game that you guys saying need to be fix but it the fix that you guys are making they are bull shit and we all know it. People left rs all the time and return but after all these bull shit updates people aren't returning and new players aren't coming into the game, so please give up on changing every dam thing, sometime i can't even recognize rs any more. We like RS not R less continue on this streak and their soon be no one left to play the game but the J mod. How can Rs really fallen so deep i thought you guys would see that RS was doing far better before all the bull shit updates. Yes by the way you guys also need to stop with the fire-making update it bull shit too. fire-making as been fire-making for years and people still train the skill and still play the game, don't make another mistake like you did with mining and smiting rework. It was a fail, the aim was to make the skills more profitable and yet before the rework mining was more profitable example rune ore was 10-11k each now light animica is not even selling for 4k that a fail, stop failing us, and take my warning stop messing up the game.

i) Have you read the two developers' diaries though? There are undeniable and dire problems with the way the current comp capes work (quest and max are fine; and they'll largely remain as they are), and this rework not only fixes them but also introduces brilliant new minigame, skill, misc and diary capes. Of course if you disagree with the proposed fixes that's fine, but at least give constructive feedback/pinpoint what you think is wrong. :/

ii) For the love of Guthix please use paragraphs, that textwall was unreadable...

The game has been running for almost 20 years, it's only natural that it keeps on evolving. Infact it is not the same game as it was when you started as most of the base code has been rewritten, some of twice or more. Not to mention all the graphics overhaul's.

It's easy to say that development should be focused on making the game better. Ok. Any suggestions? Nope, couldn't pick any from the text wall. Just rants about how everything is broken or being in the process of getting broken.

If it was just about making "shit updates" and your life miserable, this thread would not exist. You also wouldn't be able to read the dev blog (Which i'm btw guessing from the context that you didn't.) which is evolving as they get more feedback. Your feedback is generally this: the game is shit, devs are shit, everything is shit, bring back good 'ol days. It is not helpful in any way.

Please read the dev blog and give appropriate feedback according to your concerns from the context.

But yeah... The recent changes seem to be inline with the feedback they have received, so kudos for that.
;)
