Yeah because "Senior Product Marketing Manager" will be making quests

Marketing manager of course is not likely to make quests but he or she is going to sell such products developed by the Runescape teams.

Tough sell imo.

On topic:
Wouldn't mind more bottle quests & lores, especially for post 99 content.
120 expansions filled to the brim, reworks, quest REWARDS, immersion & customization..
That is a huge improvement.

I don't think there will be a lot of 120's skills since jagex said even
"120 Summoning? Still on the backlog."

- Are you trying to store it? (Warehouse)
- Or are you trying to sell it? (Store)

Quests fuel the story of RuneScape and therefore are the backbone of the game.

I agree very much with that statement.

I know that when I started playing RuneScape, quests were one of the things I enjoyed most about the game, and I started new ones as soon as I qualified for them.

But now I don't do as many of them. Many of the ones I've not yet done are just too difficult. Either there's very challenging combat, or something that has to be done with very tricky timing and/or repetition.

And a lot of the members of clans I've been in, when they talk about quests, it's usually in quite a negative way.

So I think one problem is that some quests have been made overly challenging to make them seem like more content.

And the fact that quests require a lot of effort to make, but involve locations and characters that are basically just used once by each player make them seem like a poor investment of development time. So minigames were considered a better idea. But I tend to consider minigames a distraction from playing RuneScape, the game I came here to play.

I wish I could flesh it out more, but my feeling is that what RuneScape needs is an activity that's sort of like Dungeoneering, but which advances the story as well as being an opportunity to train.

Yes, quests require a lot of efforts to make so Jagex make mostly bottle quests instead of 10 hours long master or grandmaster quests. The most recent Curse of the Black Stone quest is pretty long though.

If you don't want the "combat challenge", there is actually deathtouched darts to help you skip the "challenging" fights in almost all quests.

Jagex also made a lot of lore based content, not just in regular quests but also miniquests (e.g. Rebuilding Edgeville), live events (e.g. 'Til Death Do Them Apart&quot ;) and heaps of mob journals/notes drop, as well as more frequent lore based NPC dialogues. The good thing is all these activities don't require combat or "challenging" boss fights. They should be very enjoyable for combat challenged but lore-loving players.

The backlog grows, along with the shelf
You'll get it when you deserve it.

Quests are my favourite part of the game. I love the storylines and rewards, but it saddens me to see quests get very little attention these days. I know the mini quests got a small update recently, but it's no where near sufficient enough.

We actually had 4 quests in the last 4+ months. That's quite a lot of quests since a few years.

They are just not about the main stories and lore of the Runescapean realms. Yetis and Cheesecake quests are nice but just not too immersive. However, in last week's live stream, they said Kerapac and Elder Gods stories are coming in the near future.

I miss the days when new quests came out more frequently. When I could binge quest or work my way up to meet quest requirements. Questing was my favorite part of the game. Especially when I could do them blind. (can't do them blind anymore -the bosses seem too timing sensitive for me now) So I agree wholehearedly with the OP.

But I am wondering if it is too late. The game has changed. Players have changed. Questing may go the way of PKing - extinct for the most part. Everybody wants to afk. AFK all week and then get together for some PVE on the weekend. And mobile may just make AFKing even more popular.

That and mtx. "Cosmetics won't ruin the game" but maybe they have? We get plenty of those updates and not so much for anything else.
The point of the journey is not to arrive.

I have been off game for about 3 years. In that time, there has only been 12 new quests released of which 1 had a completely reused boss (pieces of hate) and 5 are filler quest in which one was funny (evil dave) and two should have been only holiday events (Violet is blue and The needle skips)
They finally released the mining and smithing rework after almost 3 years of waiting (with the interface still needing a lot of work). They have also released player owned farms and menaphos.

However, in that same time OSR was released and released 11 quest of which all release major content along with releasing two brand new areas of which one (fossil island) has been promised for at least a decade and still hasn't gone any where.

Additionally, not a single new skill has been added since invention. Instead all I have seen are the elite dungeons and more pets. Those pieces of content provide nothing to the game and are just meaningless trophies for people who want 200m exp.

There needs to be meaningful content. Give us fossil island, complete quest series like elemental workshop, release new content on a bi-monthly basis ore at least a monthly basis when accounting for holiday events again. After a single month, I am struggling to find anything new to do. If this keeps up, RS3 will eventually die as OSR becomes the only game people play.

There needs to be content.
