The .3 tick system was totally made up. Guess who that was? In the other thread I asked for more details and you linked it back to the osrs winter summit. Or whatever it was called. They were talking about how an update caused the game to lag, lengthening the game ticks. They said they would improve the servers and cut it in half. (an obvious exaggeration)
Through google I found your post on this forum that same day, and the .3 tick system was born.
Now, the most recent information available is provided in the Designing RS video. It took a while to sift through and I even matched the timestamps. Sometime later in the video he also says up to 3 years! Of no updates for a new tick system, but maybe less. I'm not digging up that part.
You're welcome.
I don't know about what you called "an obvious exaggeration". That's what the game engine Jmods said. It may not be exactly 0.3s tick but it will be significantly improvements to the CURRENT tick system. No updates for a NEW tick system? Sure, we aren't going to have a NEW tick system or getting the current tick system removed. Improvements are going to be made to the CURRENT tick system, the one we have been using in RS3 and OSRS ever since day 1 of their existence.
A NEW tick system or no tick will probably only happen with a new game engine, when we move to UE5, and yes, may be in 3 years or less.

Oh no! Welcome to the era of no tick Runescape. I tried to help. The information I provided is direct from the source. As direct and current as you can get.
Can you share with me where you saw RS was moving to Unreal Engine? That sounds really cool and would love to hear from Jagex on when something like that is going to happen.
If it isn't happening, I don't need some shill pushing nonsense to me about it.
Damn shame too. That tick-system update is already long overdue. Three years at least and likely tied to a major engine update sounds....tragic.

How is that not good enough?
It is the same old information we knew from years ago. We are stuck with the tick system. They said they can't remove it because of too many things like skills dependencies on it. You are just repeating the old things we all know - no new tick system. No tick system that other games can have, but they are working improving the current tick system.

Nobody said we are moving to Unreal Engine. It is just a possibility as the new games are developed on UE5.
You don't care about "smaller devs" then why should those "smaller devs" care about the smaller few RSOF users who don't even care about them. They care about the game changer players, the ones who pay RS3 and helped them to growth their revenue by 18% and then 20% the last 2 years.
If you don't know RS3 has more than 10-15 developers then you are just so small that's not even seen under their microscope. The RS3 team is bigger than the OSRS team, meaning they have more than 60 developers.
You need to stop being so defensive, when I said I didn't care I meant it in a debate conversation because they mean very little to things that actually matter in regards to making things happen, which RS3 is very bad at doing.
With the way you're taking action I could very easily say you care more about small developers or the current developer team than you do for larger developers or possibly and hopefully expanding the team, but hey I'm not blind and I'm not going to low ball you just to try and make myself look good.
I'm not here debating OSRS and RS3 for the 10000th time, the simple fact of the matter is the developers RS3 has that can actually work on large content pieces are small, once again look at the delay the max GP update has..... one mistake and poof there goes part of our development team working on something for close to or longer than a year.....
My point being, they constantly ask for our input and such for future content drops but yet here they are working on the max GP update, some new combat skill and some fort update that nobody even asked for.......and when i look around the forums here and on reddit I see threads and threads about community minigames.

Serious, how can you say they are working on it when the video says otherwise? It's only a 2 minute clip.
They aren't working on a NEW tick system. They are going to improve (or work around if you really insist) the one we have been using.
That's your answer? To focus on my words and disregard the actual source? What I said doesn't even matter since you agreed to watch the video.
They are not working to improve the tick system, reduce it, replace it or anything else directly related to changing it.
I agree, Dilbert for some reason likes to pull things out of thin air and hopes for the best and makes them factual for some reason..... He's like Jagex's puppet to try and calm the masses for some reason and it's pretty rude and extremely flame material because he's insisting it's true when it's not even remotely talked about by Jagex, and if it is it's just hopeful material that Jagex even tells us not to get our hopes up for.......
