My feedback.

Jagex, you made a significant mistake by implementing this update without even announcing it beforehand. As a Rune player for 16 years, I have never been as disappointed with the game as I am now. Rune used to pride itself on being "THE LARGEST FREE MMORPG IN THE WORLD," but now it seems that the more you pay, the more you get. This is ironic, if not downright tragic. Last month, you hit the mark with the Necromancy release, but this month, you've taken us aback with these drastic changes.

Among all the issues with the "Hero Pass," one of the most problematic aspects is the placement of the Ghost skins at level 120 and the Zombie skins at level 99, along with the removal of daily challenges. Achieving these levels through regular gameplay methods is practically impossible, which, in my opinion, is unfair, especially considering our anticipation for Necromancy. It's unlikely that we'll have access to these skins without purchasing additional levels.

In conclusion, all of this is demotivating, and I am deeply disappointed with JAGEX.

As a benefit of the Premier Club, I find it odd that you took away daily challenges while free keys are part of the active package.

I enjoy the diverse content on RS, but I'm sure we all have skills that seem like a chore or outright dislike.

Those were the skills that I used for daily challenges . It felt like I was at least progressing in XP doing the less desirable skills with challenges with the reward of extra keys to make those skills more bearable.

I don't like how I feel when I'm playing the "undesirables". Is it' good business?
I'm disappointed to be honest. Please reconsider

Don't like it. I have a general mission stuck on 0 as it's Runespan and I already have 200xp so don't want to waste my time up there. We should be able to change them. I was allowed at cost to change another one but not this one.

My initial reaction to this update is dislike because, as others have said, Daily Challenges were how I got through skills I disliked or didn't want to pay for. However, I've also learned to approach Jagex's changes with an open mind.

I agree the impact on Vis Wax is likely to be significant, and I'm a little concerned, but I also like that I can just choose the skill I want to switch to for the daily missions.

I'm irked that there's no realistic way I can complete the first weekly mission.

I REALLY want to be able to block maxed skills or re-roll General Missions. My first general mission is farming and I have 200,000,000. Why?

I'm hopeful that as I get into this further, the lamps will kinda of make up for daily challenges covering disliked skills. I've not run the numbers, but it looks like I can now train the skills I like, and use the lamps I get from that to level skills I dislike. Since the lamps are tied to any skill, there's some flexibility there that Daily Challenges didn't have.

I'm hopeful (though not banking on it) that Jagex does see a lot of the concerns and feedback that players are actively giving and I appreciate that someone took a time to make a thread specifically to actually talk about the issues, instead of ranting about "how much it sucks", which to most is a fair enough assessment.

I've half-considered quitting RS3 and either going cold turkey on MMORPGs or going to OSRS. OSRS because I have this distinct feeling if they tried to do something similar there, the backlash would be ten times worse than RS3.

In terms of feedback? I would say allow rerolls, more so for those who have 200m xp in a given skill, because there's little point in training a skill you're already maxed out entirely on. The promise of flexibility and not having to dailyscape is uh... untrue? If anything it takes way longer now to do these challenges, admittedly for more (though it doesn't pique my interest), though some people might like the cosmetics, others would prefer just XP-related stuff, all understandable, though I'd prefer having keys for limited-time TH events.

I think perhaps one of the biggest blunders this thing went through was being put out as "A major game update". Unfortunately a lot of people don't like being told that pushing for MTX is a major update. I'd of definitely gone about that differently, sure an announcement, but not a literal part of the yearly roadmap. I'm not saying to underhandedly do the update, but oh man not like that.

Finally - and perhaps some may disagree with me - but the cosmetic rewards to me just look... mediocre, even the later stage ones. Friends have pointed to me that on the female avatars they look a bit strange, but my biggest gripe with them is either they are minor variations/recolours of each other, or just very uninspired. I feel I don't really have a huge part to say on that though since I have my forever FashionScape overrides, just need to get 99 necromancy to get my max cape back...

Final yak track S&K only: 70 tasks with 1-5 hour reqs, repeatable 3 hour task. ~100 hours to 40 (booster level), ~240hours for full completion, idk how many free tokens we got but ~400 hours for all limited time token stuff seems a fair estimate IIRC the new store stuff correctly for that track (animations, elegant pets, capes).

Hero pass S&K only equivalent: 98 levels with 4 hour req, 21 levels with 12 hour req, repeatable 12 hour task. 392 hours for 99 (booster level), 644 hours for 120 (full completion), 800 hours for the 5k emblems (you actually need more for everything though, this just seems like the cape equivalent).

Same base pt tracking as yak track but must gain xp every minute instead of every 3 minutes - in practice this means even less real play time is actually counted, often <50%, making the actual numbers way worse than they look for hero pass too - and they look terrible enough as is. Even the daily tasks can take over an hour due to this (& chain=progress stops until claimed is BS when you can't claim in some scenarios)
-
Final yak track non-S&K via optimal non-skip methods ~70-140 hours? thinking it took me around 100-120 hours but I still did some via slow S&K tasks or suboptimal xp rate methods. Most tasks had a ~1 hour option, all had <2hour options, many had <10 minute options, this did burn skilling dummies and the like a bit of course for things like agility tasks. It lasted longer too at 104 days, pass 120 equivalent.

Hero pass takes ~135 hours of grind just for the weekly tasks which in itself already makes it worse than yak track, but with ALL tasks done incl dailies/weeklies/general/special (some of which expire during event, unlike yak track tasks) seems to be ~100k pts extra, bringing 120 req down to ~244 hours of grind (including the 135 hours, so +109 hours more) in addition to doing all those tasks (& some don't even count for hero points!)

No downtime too, the one thing that made the yak track grind bearable - knowing it'd end.

I kinda enjoy Hero Pass. Everything that has some grindy potential instantly becomes my favorite stuff. Grindscape FTW! Still, less grindy than the Yak Track. Guess it's for good.

Like any RS update, it takes time to get used to it... maybe _too much_ during the last couple of years. But that's another story.

Anyway, what I don't like and could do with some help, are cosmetics and the interface.

Like many have stated before, cosmetics look pretty dull, plain, unnattractive, predictable and somehow it feels just like Yak Track's "hey I have seen that sword design like 80 times now" carnival of "genericz". Yeah, maybe one or two weapons and a couple of armors look epic... but in my opinion, 80% look terrible. Not gonna lie: I just felt in love with the Crimson Guardian Outfit and weapons. A Crimson bow/crossbow would be nice.

Second, the HP interface. I feel like Jagex made a 20 floor dragon meat sandwich and tried to squeeze it in a place the size of a nail. Too many info, buttons and stuff happening in such small place! Still, one thing I like is how you can click over the green message that prompts whenever you complete any task and directly go to the HP interface. Saves lots of clicking and windows blockin' the view.

Can we get a "one-click" HP icon somewhere, by any chance?

Greetings.
Leveling +110 all skills and completing stuff here and there

Even my free track toon is up to level 18 now, starting with 0 Yak Track skips. Leveling in Hero Pass is far faster than most users stated on this thread.

I am also chilled with no FOMO feeling in Hero Pass now. Even Weekly Missions reward only 1.25k Hero Points. There is nothing much fear to lose even if I don't do a Daily Mission, or 2, or all 7 of them, as I can have 3 months to make them up comfortably.

Maybe they can add a couple more General Missions, or more Special Missions but with less Hero Points each. The other rewards are fine, especially when there are 95 cosmetics. I don't more more animations overrides though.

I really don't care about cosmetics. Can't you come up with any alternative rewards? Especially for ironmen. The daily tasks made it tolerable. Now, I just don't feel like playing my HCIM.

Ironmen get Oddments. If you have enough Oddments to buy out everything in the Oddments Store, perhaps you can suggest new cosmetics there.

For the majority of players, we already have alternative rewards other than cosmetics. We have Hero Satchels we can buy with emblems, and we have xp and content buffs we can spend charges for. On reaching specific Hero Levels, there are also non-cosmetic rewards like xp and hero satchels.

I have no interest in cosmetics. On my HCIM, It takes a fair amount of effort to complete these daily tasks. It would be nice to get some exp lamps. Frankly, the previous daily tasks were too easy for the exp rewards for ironmen, but I got used to them. Now they are gone. I don't think ironmen even get the buffs. I'm struggling to see any reason to do these hero tasks on my HCIM. Am I missing something?
