I enjoyed daily challenges, they were simple, and clearly laid out, and you could turn off certain skills and focus rewards where you wanted them.

Don't fix what ain't broke I say unless it's just a money thing; in that case .......blah whatev.

100% this.

as someone who is maxed i would turn off the skills that i didnt need xp in or the ones that took to long to do (looking at you dug). it was also a easy way to get a few more keys

now its just.....ewww
Logic, who needs it...

Terrible at best. Mass downgrades & MTX abuse everywhere...how the hell did they even manage to make it this bad?! It's like they picked out all the bad parts, made them even worse, then crammed them all together & even went out of their way to remove all the best rewards for non-whales too.

COUNTING MECHANIC MADE EVEN MORE INTRUSIVE ON NORMAL GAMEPLAY/SEVERELY UNDERVALUES PLAYER TIME EVEN MORE THAN BEFORE - if the game content you're doing doesn't reliably give an xp tick it counts EVERY MINUTE then some of your time isn't counted no matter how active the content is! 40 minute daily tasks can EASILY be OVER an hour in practice because of this if running around for various dailies.

Dailies - less rewarding (NO keys, much LESS xp, take MUCH longer - easily OVER an hour if not gaining xp via a method that actually counts EVERY MINUTE. PROGRESS STOPS UNTIL EACH CLAIMED, REQ SPACE.
Hero satchel replacements to the weekly track feels like a reward downgrade too tbh.

Yak track part is now INFINITE B2B2B YAK TRACKS WITH MORE GRIND THAN S&K ONLY YAK TRACKS PLUS ADDITIONAL SPECIFIC MISSIONS ON TOP & NO MORE TIME EFFICIENT OPTION THAT CAN BE USED TO FINISH FASTER LIKE YAK TRACKS TYPICAL ~100-150 hour non-S&K route.

MTX Content buffs? This slope is getting too slippery...enticing yes, but inherently bad for game balance.
Bond prices to skip it are even steeper too...not that I'll touch them regardless, but still.

The store cosmetics give you the choice to pick the ones you want first at least...literally the only plus I can find.

The large headstart cuts over 100 hours of grind off of this for the first time ONLY due to forced skip conversion and it still looking this terrible even after that only further cements how insanely bad this thing is. Even if you do get an xp tick every minute it is STILL more grindy than yak track, and it is VERY likely that you won't keep that up your entire playtime so the pass won't even count that time as progress, making it even worse.

First thought, the pass take way too long to finish and you need to do your "dailyscape" for at least 30-60 min. I liked the idea to not be "forced" to log into the game every single day for few hours to finish some content and don't miss out some nice rewards. It's estimated to 4-6 hours per day or maybe even more to unlock everything. It's scary and probably not gonna happens.

The solution : buy bonds or hero points for every single battle pass if you want the rewards.

Enblems : We should not loss them at the end of every battle pass. We kind of worked for them or even spent money on it and we can,t save them to spend it on what we really like. Also, if someone buy them at the last minute, he could just loss all of them before being able to spend it.

Buffs charges : Similar problem for those. If you get them near the end of the pass, you have no time left to use them. Please give more time even if it's not unlimited. It's a big incentive to spend money on hero points but also not great if you spend 50-100$ on something you just loss before having a chance to use it. There is a limited number of charges anyways and you have to earn them (or buy them...)
Ex. 30-60 days or even 90 days to match the end of the next Hero Pass.

I like the idea of buff like Chaos ward to learn some high level content (if you have access or the level to try it). However, they will probably affect the market and other players which make them "pay to win".

I understand Jagex has to earn money from MTX but buffs like Trailblzer, Chaos ward or headhunter are kind of P2W because they are hidden behind Premier tier. I think they may also affect the economy overall and other players experience. So well, I don't know what to think since it's make it unfair but it's gives a chance to experience some game content.

Thansk to the mods for doing their best with this update. There some good ideas around it but it's need some tweaking to make it more enjoyable.

Is the daily challenge bugged?

1 account I had hunter and another account I had crafting, just did wildy evil tree and they both got marked as done during the chopping part.

Edit: Nevermind its double for training them skills but can get training any skill.

This is indeed intended and why Hero Pass is better than Yak Track for most causal players. Nobody is forced to train 3 random specific skills for Dailyscape. Every skill or no skill and just any activities gain us Hero Point.

Different characters may have different daily Missions but all can just do whatever they like in RS3 and complete the same Mission with the same rewards. I got Crafting in my toon and completed it in just 2 Farming Runs, while I AFKed Rituals and completed the mission for another toon that rolled a Herblore Mission.

I can also choose to not log in for a week or even month and can still gain all rewards for the entire 3 months in the days I prefer to play.

It's a good point for "do what you want" for your daily challenge. However, the interface doesn't seesm tos ay " you can log at any tme to complete the daily or weekly you've missed.

Also, missions are around 20% of the total Hero points needed for the whole Hero pass. The rest is gameplay time. In the end, you miss alot of rewards if you don't play alot for a while which happens a few times during the year.

They should have just added this and not taken away daily challenges so I could just ignore it. I liked logging in, spending say 10 minutes doing some quick challenges, getting a nice XP bump and 3 extra keys. Now I have to apparently do long missions to get some cosmetics or satchels or something? No thanks. On the plus side, there's now only 1 additional daily key as a member so it's easier to not bother subscribing. Meow

I heard plenty of MTX haters are actually happy with Hero Pass and buy membership focused RS3 Premier Clubs now, as they will just have to pay one price and get 94 new cosmetics they would otherwise have to pay far more for Runecoins to buy them from SGS and/or 3rd party promotions.

Personally, I already have Premier Club for my alts and plan to buy another year later when they expire, so I welcome Hero Pass too.

Hero Pass is ao always-on, so no need to look up news when the Yak Track will come when the current one expires, as we can expect to just play RS3 our way every one of the 365/366 day a year. So there is no such problem as:

"Also, missions are around 20% of the total Hero points needed for the whole Hero pass. The rest is gameplay time. In the end, you miss alot of rewards if you don't play alot for a while which happens a few times during the year."

Yak Tracks were all about gameplay time, it takes 3+ hours to complete one tier of "skilling and killing" but with Hero Pass, this is just minutes for a tier of 1k points each.

Hero pass is terrible. I only log on week days in the evenings to do dailies and maybe some time now to do necro. I spend a few hours here and there on weekends and play to do necro and fish. I have a life and family. Time is valuable, No reason to have to spend more time on getting Xp. Dailies were simple. I didn't even do anything when I logged on. I read about hero pass and what I need to do, got like 500 points and just logged off. No time for this extra stuff. Time is valuable for a bulk of RS players.

I get enjoyment and look forward to the dailies when I have free time in the evenings.

I really don't care about cosmetics. Can't you come up with any alternative rewards? Especially for ironmen. The daily tasks made it tolerable. Now, I just don't feel like playing my HCIM.

Ironmen get Oddments. If you have enough Oddments to buy out everything in the Oddments Store, perhaps you can suggest new cosmetics there.

For the majority of players, we already have alternative rewards other than cosmetics. We have Hero Satchels we can buy with emblems, and we have xp and content buffs we can spend charges for. On reaching specific Hero Levels, there are also non-cosmetic rewards like xp and hero satchels.
