What have you learned from RuneScape over the years that has carried over either into other videogames or even into the real world

Prioritizing inclusion, friendliness and offering a helping hand to those that need it.
Survival of the fittest. For any game in 2022 to have a chance to live and see 2042, they will have to adapt and evolve into what the modern players in 2022 really play games for, and a lot of these modern players in 2022 were evolved and modernized veteran players from 2002.
Being able to speak and write English. Back when I first stepped into the magical world of Runescape back in 2006 I was too young to understand and/or speak any English - I did know a few basic words but far from enough to have a conversation with someone else.
Ooh, shiny things!

More like being able to learn other languages.
Don't you realize RS3 has been supporting German, French, Dutch and Portuguese for quite a while, and Jagex has just recently added Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Polish versions of their T&S? That's not all, they have hired some localization director to focus on adding supports to 10 different languages. So, there are still a couple of unknown languages we can learn from playing Runescape perhaps later.

Take nothing for granted.
Nothing ever comes easy.
Depending on which side of a conversation you're on, there is no such thing as discourse. History is always told by the victors.
When the day becomes the night and the sky becomes the sea, when the clock strikes heavy and there’s no time for tea; and in our darkest hour, before my final rhyme, she will come back home to Wonderland and turn back the hands of time.
either life or runescape has taught me to grow up and have intelligent conversations,
its taught me to try and control my emotions when chatting thru the forums, its taught me to read the words on the forum from another eyes instead of my own
Typing speed I guess qualifies, like simply having the chat feature helps make you faster and acclimatises you to a keyboards layout. Could probably get a job as a court Stenographer, off the back of RS’s free Typing tuition.

There have been loads of little details in the game that have prompted me to look up their origin.
For example, I wondered why the RC Guild had such an oddly named piece of machinery, the "
R
une Goldberg Machine
". When I Googled it to find out how to use it, some of the results suggested "
Do you mean
Rube
Goldberg?
"
Look it up, it's really interesting
...and as Tawny mentioned above, my typing speed has increased over the years. Not the accuracy though, unfortunately.
