Like all game developers with multiple games, Jagex did shut down less promising ones often on one hand, but on the other hand they also invest more and reap more profits from promising ones.
Don't forget Jagex has also shut down RSC and Funorb. Those were their own games but they still shut then down due to market conditions, we should have learned it will be more likely for them to shut down partnered games due to consents from their partners too.
If you read my post, I mentioned Funorb, as well as other games Jagex produced in-house.
These aren't market conditions. These are quality issues. Specifically, game quality issues. Make a good game and you won't have to crumble underneath corporate suit talk like market conditions or "sunsetting" your game.
They shut down Funorb and such definitely because of market conditions. They weren't bad quality, just not profitable enough so Jagex pulled the investment and reinvested them in higher return products.

Maybe they should have invested into an evolution of combat for funorb and a squeal of funorb instead of culling their flagship product's userbase.

They are already doing EOC in their new survival game. Of course, they see value so they invested their money there. EOC is not any proprietary product of Jagex. EOC is actually just skill based combat in over 9,000 known video game under the sun.

I'm looking forward to learning about the "market conditions" that cause this new survival game to "sunset."

OK. So you haven't learned it yet. Perhaps you can tell us in due time.

Right, and you can start paying towards that tombstone.
We have free death events in RS3, don't worry! Tombstones are almost ignored entirely in RS3. Not sure about tombstone effects in other Jagex games though.
I have learned not just are we getting the usual 3 Daily Challenges with the usual rewards again, we are also going to get 95 cosmetics and a lot of other benefits like buffs and useful items with Hero Pass.
That's a heck of a deal, and it is obvious we learned RS3 is willing to listen to the community.

ROTFLMAO
