Great that free players can also get Purple Christmas Present from Advent Calendar. It further answered OP's question definitively with a YES.

Which part of "today's Advent Calendar window cannot be opened by free players" did you not understand?

"can you obtain a purple, snta, or gold present in f2p?" - OP

Which part of the only sentence from OP did you not understand?

Clearly, Holly was specifically talking about the Advent Calendar windows offering purple presents, which F2P cannot even claim.

Therefore, the quote from the OP - and your entire response - is irrelevant.

I made a comment replying to OP, not Leone, and definitely not somebody like you who claimed Leone or whoever (assuming) they are not OP. Thanks and bye!

INB4 next years holiday events are all locked to Premium membership, and spam everyone with common items you can't drop or use without it

Not only do these purple presents take up an invy slot they also prevent you from using Bank presets, or Training Dungeoneering and any dedicated F2P Ironman accounts can just forget about using them

This could be fixed is we could trade in the purples for 2 blues, or have an interface to opt out of obtaining purples at all if we can't open them

I was definitely shocked about it when I couldn't open my purple presents.

I know for the beach event... at the very beginning... some of the items were members only, and it "patched' to be f2p about half way into the events (an example "the summer storm ring&quot ;) . I held onto a lot of those items and so I was lucky, and I'm hoping that I might get lucky for this event too. I'm going to hold on to the presents and hope there is a change, but I am definitely disappointed / not too happy about this change if it's intended and preserved throughout the event.

Even if the claim is that it's new items contained by these presents it still has a very strong stench or poor appearance that it is taking away from f2pers compared to what was available last year (doesn't seem to be a comparable replacement) so it just seems so tacky to me.

Today's Advent Calendar offering - for the THIRD time now - is a useless purple present!

No gift and no bonus TH key for F2P again today.

We get it, Jagex. You despise free players and obviously have no regard for us at all. What exactly is driving this increase in hatred towards F2P we have seen?

I do not expect an answer here, at least not an honest one. More players - F2P as well as P2P - should be asking themselves this question, and whether such behavior deserves to be rewarded or not.

You make several good points. Either of the options you suggested would be fine. Another would be to have purple presents able to be opened by free players, but have the items Jagex does not wish us to have simply not drop on free worlds, Problem solved.

Once again, with several alternatives to choose from, Jagex selects the laziest and most unfair option. Can you feel the warmth of their Christmas Spirit? I cannot.

I agree with you,

However, I am certain nothing will be done to correct the purple present problem. Jagex is doing this on purpose because they do not value us as players. Especially now that Jagex is closing up shop until after the start of the new year, I do not expect anything will be done to improve the situation.

I am waiting for the Tier 4 buff to take effect before I claim any more presents. Hopefully, that will not backfire on me, and cause me to obtain a greater number of useless purple presents. Any purple presents I do get I am just going to destroy.

Oh wait...the Tier 4 Luck buff will only be Tier 1 for F2P. Of course it will be.

This is the same buff my Ring of Luck provides all the time. How unimpressive.

Still, this does not change my intent to destroy all the useless purple presents. Perhaps I shall burn them up in a nice bonfire. That will be festively fun.

Did Jagex serious screw over free players for a fourth time with another bogus Advent Calendar window showing an unclaimable purple present?!

Yes...yes they did.

No free key today.

Ring of Luck is a Tier 1 luck enhancer, not Tier 4:

"The Ring of Luck is an enchanted lapis lazuli ring that, when worn, slightly increases the chances to receive certain unique drops and rewards that are affected by the luck mechanic. It is classified as a tier 1 luck enhancer, and it will not affect chances for drops and rewards in other luck tiers."

Tier 4 luck comes from Luck of the Dwarf or the elusive and fabled Hazelmere's Signet Ring, and member only Monlolith "Luck of the Dwarf" Relic Power, and they have always been member only content:
