Hey nice guide, I wish this was mandatory for all new users to read and take a test on before they start playing haha.

Another scam you should add is this:

The Java Runtime "Add-On" Website Scam

- Where it happens:
Usually this scam occurs on other sites that are used by Runescape players such as YouTube, forums, or clan sites.

- How it happens:
A scammer will post a link and say something like "Please check out my Runescape livestream" or "watch this (runescape related video)". The link will be disguised so that the victims can't read the original url. When the victim clicks on the link, the page will start to load and then a Java alert will pop up saying something like "Do you want to run this Java Runtime Add-On?" which makes it seem like the victim has to install the add-on to view the page.

- What happens:
If the victim installs the add-on, what it does is edit your java software code. Once edited, your java software will send a message to the scammer with your login and pin info every time you play Runescape. This is how people get scammed for their whole banks even when they have a pin. It is also allows the scammer to scam the victim over and over no matter how many times the victim changes their account security info.

- The solution:
If this happens to you, the only way to fix it is to uninstall and reinstall Java.

To avoid having it happen, don't click on disguised links unless you know and trust the source. You can also change your browser settings to not accept add-ons without asking you first.




I know about this scam because I was in a chat one time with a friend and a random stranger he had met who tried to do this to us. My friend is learning how to program in java so when he clicked on the link he opened the add-on in his java editor to see what it was and that's how we found out.
