Fellow Griefers, hear me.
I have had an epiphany.
Why do we grief?
What is the hidden force that makes us strong, keeps us united?
The secret ingredient is love dammit.
Guthix is the god of balance, of harmony. The incorruptible symbol.
That is why we must turn to positive griefing. To benevolent evil.
The positive griefing we perpetrate is merely an expression of harmony.
The do-gooders need us. They leave a grief-shaped hole in the fabric of reality.
Grief sounds bad. But ugly minds see ugly things. It is the natural order.
With no rule-breakers there would no mods. And that would be a tragedy beyond words.
The above post was numbered 174. That's my lucky number.
But it's what comes after that matters. This post, 175.
In Pere Goriot, the famous quote has Rastignac standing in Pere Lachaise cemetery, brandishing his fist at the lights of Paris below. 'We shall fight this out, you and I!'.
Less well known is the next (and last) line, 'and then he returned to dine with Madame de Nucingen'
Let us embrace positive griefing like a rat up a pipe.
Our benevolent evil may be frowned on, but it is a necessary evil.
We are the only thing that stands between the busybodies and the evil evil.
