I have had a brilliant idea! What about instead of a death star we just build a long line of incredibly expensive fortifications which end just short of the coast and which can therefore be easily bypassed by enemy tanks?
Here look, we can base our plan off these old blueprints I found lying around.
We can call it "THE CORUGIOT LINE" !!!6!!! I failed to keep my New Year's resolution before I even made it.
