Rise of Ashdale
The Völskørn is a small Fremennik tribe that is native to Miscellania. Due to scarce resources, they raided fellow Fremennik lands that were high in abundant resources than they were. Met with a massive army composed of tribes who owned the lands they raided, the Völskørn were defeated in battle save two ships that were engaging in southern raids.
Once word spread to the remaining clansman of the Völskørn that their home was sacked and their wives, brothers, sons and mothers were slain and their land confiscated, they realized they could not return home. They didn't have the manpower to challenge the other tribes.
The group decided to continue south, but instead of just looting, they would need a new home. The two ships knew the nearby lands belonged to the larger kingdoms of the southern queen and western elves. They could not invade a rich land without being met with an army--or so they thought.
One evening, the thought came across the group to raid the local small monarchy of Ashdale. The men of Ashdale were fierce but they were child's play for the Völskørn raiders. The island-city was captured and thus the remaining clansman have instituted a new Fremennik settlement here.
((So the idea behind Rise of Ashdale
Is to kind of try something new in the PoC world. We plan to be Proto-kingdom based but still with the lore and uniqueness of a Fremennik group. A real world comparison might be like England under Danish law. Of course there will be more fanciful role play written for the events I introduced above, but I wanted to give you guys something tangible until I can finish our thread.))
