WE-Dancing with Death
The blood colored moon hung high above Sophanem. It was eerily quiet in the city. The plagued citizens were on their boats heading to safer lands. Most of the city guards waited for the signal to begin the trap that was set for the mummified horde.
A whistle pierced the desert air and on cue, the guards released the barricades on the pyramids within the city. Cannons were pointed towards the entrances and the guardsmen waited. Ridley’s men were in position to take the horde head on. Yami Eternal’s minions surrounded key points within the city.
Cain watched from the balcony of his room. Citizens that had not made it out in time where huddled in the nearby room afraid of what the night was to bring.
A white light pierced the sky and reached to the moon. Divinus must have completed the ritual successfully. The white light bathed the city of the dead in a brilliant glow. It had begun…
Onboard a ship set for a safe island somewhere in the Arc…
The crowd grew impatient. They were not used to long travels on the seas and most of them had bouts of sea sickness. The plagued people of Sophanem clustered together in the bottom of the ship.
A young child sat by himself with his face hiding under his arms as he rested. Another of the city’s citizens came over to him and sat “Are you ok?” She asked…No response…He seemed to be having trouble breathing and she heard a raspy noise come from him. “Hey, are you ok?” She asked again and shook his shoulder.
He looked up at her with blood red eyes and his decaying face showed no emotion. She screamed in terror as he attacked her with no remorse. There was no escaping the horde now. The citizens, weak but strong in spirit, bound together and faced the zombie children before succumbing to their own illnesses and wounds. The ship was damned and the island locals had no clue…
