I had a case where one of my clanmates was talking about his stream in our clan chat. So as a fellow streamer I decided I would check it out and be supportive. What I found, was him standing in the grand exchange, auto typing messages about how people should come check out his stream for giveaways. (It was clear he was auto typing as he had a webcam on, and his character was still saying things when he got up and left his computer. He also confirmed he was using another program to enter chat for him when I asked how he was doing it.) Our clan does not condone this kind of activity.

Not wanting to disrupt his stream, I told him that I thought what he was doing was against the rules, and asked him politely to at least stop mentioning his stream in our clans chat. He continued, and decided to have the discussion about whether he was being kicked from the clan or not on his stream. I continued to tell him that if he didn't stop I was going to chat with the other ranks, get their opinions on the matter, and that given past experience he would most likely get kicked.

The following day, he had left the clan on his own.

I don't like making immediate decisions when it comes to kicking people, as it does have negative consequences for the other person (losing their orts, and their fealty bonus). I like to talk it over with others first, and make sure the offender knows that they will be kicked if they continue so that they have a chance to correct their ways.
If we point out each others flaws, then we can fix them.
That way, we can all improve together ^_^

My Rule is very simple. Do not Scam Clan members. Anyone else fine and dandy just keep it to yourself and don't tell us about it. We don't want to know and we don't want to join in.

I severely dislike beggars and scammers but theres very little you can do really.

When it comes to clan members scamming other clan members there is no tolerance. When it is reported to me that a clan member is doing this kind of shady stuff however it is ultimately up to the discretion of other ranks as to what should be done.

Is this member a long time veteran?

Has this member contributed heavily to the community?

Is this something that has gone or for a significant period of time?

Is this member doing it to "troll" or for the "lulz"?

Does this member not fully understand the rules put in place by the clan and/or Jagex?

After all of this information is taken into account then the decision is made whether to place a strict warning on the player or to remove them completely. A lot of issues should ultimately be dealt with by Jagex but at the same time I believe that everyone deserves a second chance and/or a chance to prove themselves. Being a tyrant and banning anyone at the first sign of rule breaking is something that can hurt entry level clans like my own (where we take in mostly new players) and I have seen many times great change in those who have received the proper guidance.

If Jagex gives players chances when making these types of offences then why shouldn't we? Just my food for thought.

It would not matter to me if the account was in their own control or a hacked account - no need to explain themselves - they would be out of Clan just as fast as I could telly to the site to observe it myself and then bring up the Clan interface to kick.

This lol. I would never give them the chance/privilege of discussing it with them.

I have the greatest respect for those who give out chances to clannies who act like this and try to guide them on the right path but in my experience theres little changing these people, not only do they have a scammers mentality but it often goes with bad attitude and a disruptive nature.
