i think rule-wise for jagex, there's nothing that can be done about it. As in they create expectations, true that, however, they are not doing something wrong. We all know they are, however, to the letter, they aren't, if that makes sense

I don't want someone in our clan like that tho.

Personally I would first attempt to talk to the member, ensure the account hasn't been hacked etcetera. But after confirming the account wasn't hacked , I would remove for breaking clan rules on the grounds of scamming.

Due to the nature of the scam it is unlikely they would be hacked, but I still want to check and allow them to provide an explanation. I also want to make sure I explain why I am kicking them before actually removing them from the clan. Naturally if I am unable to contact them within a reasonable time frame then I would likely remove without an explanation.

Either way would result in a reduced rank in the clan, especially if they are a high rank; as if they're account is compromised we do not want them to have access to clan settings.

It would not matter to me if the account was in their own control or a hacked account - no need to explain themselves - they would be out of Clan just as fast as I could telly to the site to observe it myself and then bring up the Clan interface to kick.
