@King Serafis

I can understand that point of view, certainly when it comes to grey areas like account sharing and multi-logging where it's a catastrophe waiting to happen but not actually hurting anyone, but scamming anyone anywhere in any form is an absolute red line for me.

I've worked with other leaders and clanmates before when we've found we have a scammer. On a couple of occasions i've actually tricked them into returning most of what they stole, before i've kicked them and warned whatever clan they go to next about their behaviour. So there are things you can do, it's just how patient you can be and how much effort you're willing to put in.

It's 100% a scam and there are no two ways about it. If you're being generous, you will give directly and won't insert any conditions or steps/tricks before doing that. Very similar to that is doubling, for example, which is officially classified as scamming by Jagex, and simply saying 'doubling money' and being reported for it results in a 24-hour mute offence.

To me it's an instant kick , no matter how the person tries to wrap it up because lots of people have suffered to and been deceived/scammed by his kind. There is usually little to no discussion required or necessary between leaders about it.

Even if it hasn't happened in the clan/chat, it's a matter of morals and ethics (which we govern for a player as a whole and as a person, and extends beyond the clan environment) and I'm always concerned with how members could be representing the clan in public, and misbehaving/trolling/rule-breaking in public would obviously result in a kick from the clan, especially as a community clan with the best interests of the RS community at heart and how each of our members can make a difference to make the community as a whole a better place and experience for all the players.

My thought exactly.

Wow, this is a much more unanimous opinion than I thought X)

Matthe, I'm a little curious: Do you consider this behavior to be a form of scamming (Personally speaking, of course)?

Yes, personally speaking, I consider it scamming.

Would the game rules consider it a scam, even if, in the extremely rare instance, it is actually genuine and not a scam? I understand how low of a chance, if not an improbability, that is' legitimate, but I just wonder from the games rules' point of view.

I believe it would be considered a scam yes - it is clearly a trust trade at the very least. If I saw someone doing it I would be waving my hammer. :)

Thank you for giving Jagex's stance on this =) Hopefully issues like deceptive begging can be cut down now if we can get word out about it.
